Hello my name is Shanequiwa Sledge. I am a licensed professional counselor and a licensed chemical dependency counselor intern. My experience is in trauma, grief, and loss; as well as, child and family/relationship dynamics. I am EMDR trained and have extensive experience in working with a variety of traumas and other life adjusting experiences. I have worked with children within the school system, children and families in underserved communities, survivors and families of domestic violence and other abuse; and I have worked with severe mental illness in a behavioral health hospital.

Horses remind us to be genuine and guide us on a journey towards our authentic selves.

My specialization includes developmental trauma, mood disorders, life transitions, and couple's counseling. Well, hello beautiful people! I aim to help black women who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and/or spirituality. From the time we are born, we are exposed to many unpleasant and even unexplainable circumstances that leave us desperately looking for answers. Unfortunately, as black women the “lack” can result in us dealing with our reality in a number of devastating ways. There is an amount of deception in MANY forms in our society that is cultivated and we fall victim to; some for a short period, and some all of our lives.
