Welcome to the wonderful world of somatic therapy! I know it can feel intimidating to embark on a journey of self-improvement and self-acceptance. Luckily, SE (Somatic Experiencing) is a gentle approach to trauma-informed counseling that helps you ease into the process. It's great for beginners to therapy, as well as longtime therapy-goers who feel stuck in traditional talk therapy and want to access a new part of the work. I believe that therapy is at its best when it is an open and inviting process, so I will never pressure you to change or push you in a certain direction.

I consider therapy a great opportunity for me to walk alongside clients on their healing journey. I take a person-centered and trauma informed approach to meet clients where they are at and work together as a team to identify treatment goals. I strive to foster a warm and supportive environment so clients feel seen, heard, and valued. I believe that building a strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important aspects of therapy. My training and clinical experience has allowed me to work with both athletes and non-athletes from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

Clients present with many concerns, including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, and relationship issues to name a few. Everyone experiences emotional ups and downs, successes and failures. However, when one is stuck in the "downs" and the "failures" we may feel overwhelmed, anxious & depressed. Often one turns to unhealthy coping such as alcohol and drugs, eating, compulsive behaviors - shopping and exercising, isolation or avoidance. Untangling the unique threads of your life; and understanding how they affect you can be the beginning to feeling more in charge and living according to your values and desires.

I have experience in supporting individuals with a variety of mental health challenges including substance use, depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and PTSD.
Life is full of ups and downs. A big transition, the death of a loved one, or a traumatic event can show up as anxiety, depression, addiction, or even physical pain. These feelings don’t have to linger. With evidence-based therapies, such as EMDR, I can help you overcome traumatic events or simply unhealthy (and often untrue) ways of thinking of yourself and emerge as the “new” you with the clarity, confidence, and joy needed to live the life you deserve.

As an LPC I facilitate sessions through an integrative approach; utilizing various treatment modalities such as IFS and EMDR, and my training as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional to best meet your needs.
I often work with individuals who utilize externals to numb their feelings (whether that be drugs, alcohol, relationships), and people who may have been taught to ignore their own wants and needs in order to fulfill their role of taking care of others. This disconnect from your emotional experience has the ability to isolate you from those around you, often leading to misunderstanding and conflict in relationships. My goal is to help you gain insight into your own internal experience in order to better understand yourself, and to be better understood by those around you.

I have supported clients with experiences of trauma, grief, abuse, and acute mental health diagnoses.
EMDR and DBT trained. Currently training in somatic experiencing. Whether you are looking to make an important decision or become free of unwanted habits, then I am here to partner with you in this process. You have the answers inside and, together, we will find the next step forward. It will take deliberate actions, such as looking honestly at oneself, and a safe space to do so. Regardless of any manifestation of trauma, grief, or mental health dis-ease, you can and will create a life you love by first looking inward. "What we achieve inwardly will change outer reality." -Plutarch, ancient Greek philosopher.

My passions are helping adults, teens, children navigate ADHD, life transitions and developmental trauma. Navigating life with ADHD can be difficult at any age. I seek to help parents, children and adults learn to accept the gifts and manage the challenges of living a successful life with ADHD. Life transitions are major life events that can be difficult to work through. Developmental trauma occurs when we do not get what we need emotionally from our caregivers as children. Altough often intentional this can leave us feeling damaged and unloved. I seek to help you discover how to connect to and love yourself and others.

Most people simply want to be heard. They want to talk with a good friend about life's troubles. Being free to express feelings without the concern of hurting others makes difficult tasks easier. Life's greatest treasure is a good friend that you can trust with anything. I would like to be that someone who listens without judgment. It can't hurt to feel those emotions and speak them. However, it can hurt you to deny they exist and bottle them up. Been there, done that and should have a t shirt!

As a trauma-informed IFS (Internal Family Systems) Trained therapist, I will work with you from a holistic framework that is guided by your specific needs.
We all do the best we can to cope, but sometimes our efforts throw us out of balance. I work with individuals who are feeling the impacts of these imbalances viscerally, either people who are analytically minded who feel emotions are a hinderance or people who are highly sensitive whose feelings can act like an overwhelming tidal wave. Our imbalances can manifest in depression, anxiety, overwhelming stress, or a dissatisfaction with relationships. In our work together you can expect for us to create treatment goals guided by your core values that move you towards clarity and growth.

If you're wanting help and support around exploring your own identity, navigating life stressors/transitions, processing trauma, managing your depression/anxiety or dealing with disordered eating, please reach out, I'm here to help! You don't have to do this alone! I'll be here to cheer you on and guide you through this process and help you reach your goals!.
When I was in high school, I struggled with my sexuality. The struggle lead to maladaptive coping skills, depression and anxiety. I felt so alone, scared, and like no one understood what I was going through! I needed help but I was too afraid to ask for it! One day, a school counselor, who I've never interacted with before, noticed that something was wrong with me and she reached out, gave me a helping hand, and put me into group therapy with other teens like me! I wasn't alone any more, I wasn't the only one questioning my sexuality, there were other kids like me! Getting help was the first step towards acceptance and self-love!

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
