We all need space to prioritize our thoughts and feelings, to say what we need to say out loud, to someone who will not judge us for how we think and feel. Oftentimes, we cannot expect the people in our lives to be impartial or unbiased. Sometimes the people in our lives are far too involved in what causes us to need this space, to process our trauma, and they might not realize why we are anxious or depressed. In the therapeutic relationship, it is all about what you want and need. I will listen and ask thoughtful questions and help you recognize patterns and make connections.

It is brave to seek out help on your path to healing. Many of us get the message that healing is an individual journey but trauma and healing are rooted in the context in which we live. Healing is a process that is made possible by building loving connection with ourselves and others.

With a relational, in-depth, and trauma-informed approach, I support clients to increase understanding of the influence the past has on the present, and then use this insight to find a path forward.
I empower clients who are trying to get things right, but feel like they always fall short. Maybe you are stepping out on your own as a young adult, or navigating the mounting pressures of being a teen, or feeling overwhelmed by the stress of parenting a child dealing with their own big feelings. I support clients to accept difficult parts of yourself to feel more whole. I support skill-building to reduce anxiety & to enhance your trust in yourself & your abilities. In art making, we can create space to process experiences that feel outside of spoken language.

I believe that we all struggle with trauma, and most mental health challenges stem from how one adapts to these experiences. I specialize in working with trauma, identifying how it is held in the body, the strategies we uphold as defense mechanisms, and how to negotiate with our inner self to move toward a healthy healing of mind and body. Coming from either a top down approach for those thinker types, or a bottom up approach for those feeler types, we will compassionately reconnect the mind and body, in order to achieve relief and greater connectivity to self and others.

My job is to foster a collaborative and trusting space where you feel safe to explore your anxiety, your fear, your trauma, and your grief.
Healing happens relationally–within our communities, our families, and within ourselves. Therapy works best if we can build a safe and trusting relationship, so you should know a little bit about who I am! I am a white, queer and trans femme musician turned therapist. I am areligious, but I find many experiences to be deeply spiritual, including cooking, being in community with others, singing together, and walking in nature. Folks who do well with me don't fit the status quo, are navigating transitions, are noticing patterns in their relationships they want to examine and change, and are in search of healing and transformation.

I have special interest and experience with LGBTQIA+ individuals, trauma survivors, polyamorous/CNM & kink/BDSM relationships, neurodivergent folks, & artists.
Seeking an intentional space for healing and discovery is a meaningful choice. Through curiosity, warmth, and honesty, I work collaboratively to support clients in connecting their history, relationships, environment, to their current challenges and future goals. I believe that all of our stories are contextual, therefore I work towards identifying oppression-based barriers and explore the environmental impact through an anti-oppressive and liberation lens. My focus is to create a space where you can be empowered, express your pain, learn new ways of coping, and continue to grow into your most authentic self.

Being human can be overwhelming. Most of us are balancing various responsibilities on top of trying to give ourselves what we need, if we even know what that may be. My work focuses on making sense of what feels complex, placing it into words, and meaningful action. Many people I work with are struggling to balance personal wants and expectations of their families, experiencing internal conflict due to living in dual cultures, coping with trauma from substance abuse, racism, or are generally exhausted from worry and sadness.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
