I have been working as a therapist for over 15 years and enjoy working with those living with addictions, depression, trauma, anxiety, and other emotional challenges.
If you are struggling with closing the gap between where you are currently and where you want to be in the future, I would be privileged to support you in making this happen. These challenges and patterns often block us from realizing our potential and may lead to isolation, hopelessness, and a loss of purpose in our lives. In working through these barriers we are able to uncover the true gifts which give life meaning and purpose.

Over the years I have encouraged and supported individuals dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, transitions, suicidal thoughts, and psychosis in moving toward a more fulfilling life and better mental health.
Therapy isn't about finding what is broken. It is about exploring what works, what might happen, how to improve or develop better coping skills, and finding ways to put the past where it belongs, in the past. It's looking at the good, the bad, and the ugly within an emotionally safe, judgement free, environment of hope. The purpose of therapy is to move past finding ways to survive and start finding ways to live.

I really enjoy working with people who want more out of life; whether it's to reduce the impact of depression, anxiety, or pain; to move on from past experiences; or just change directions. I love being part of that journey and helping people get closer to a "life worth living." We all have a truth and a sense of when we are living in tune with the person we feel we were meant to become. Trauma, addictions, and other mood conditions force us to feel separate from that truth, and I am looking to work with people who want to reconnect with it.

I offer collaborative therapy for individuals and couples who are seeking support in navigating depression, processing trauma, rebuilding connection and trust, and self-acceptance.
I believe that people are doing the best they can with the information and skills they have. Sometimes even with these skills, life can feel unmanageable, especially during this time when many people are struggling with loneliness and existential anxieties. I believe people can grow and create better lives for themselves with the appropriate support and a space to process. My approach to therapy is client-centered and systemic, with a focus on validation and gaining new skills.

I frequently help people work through anxiety, trauma/PTSD, OCD, relationship issues, depression, life transitions, & identity-related issues.
We all have moments in life when we become stuck in unhelpful patterns & have a hard time seeing a path forward toward living the life we want. One of my goals is to help you identify stuck areas in your life & what might be keeping you there, & to work with you to find ways forward that are in-line with your goals & values. I describe therapy as a team sport. I'm very collaborative & find that we often make the most progress when we both bring our unique strengths into the mix. It is important to me to understand your goals, values, & cultural context, so I can tailor my approach to best align with them.

Trauma comes in many shapes and forms. A deeply distressing and disturbing experience in your life can have many negative effects such as feeling numb or like you’re just “going through the motions,” deep depression and sadness, or feeling “broken.” But you are not alone in feeling this way. I understand the power of trauma and how it can destroy you, overtaking your mind and your body. It’s a wound that changes a person. Especially if you don’t let it out. It finds unhealthy ways. The trauma can overpower you and take control. But you can become "unbroken."

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
