Challenges come in all different walks of life, shapes, and sizes. It's the universal one thing everyone must deal with. As a therapist, I try to help my clients develop the skills to be able to deal with whatever challenges they may face with courage, dignity, and the strength to know that eventually they will overcome these challenges. For many these challenges include debilitating depression, intense anxiety, fractured communication skills, trauma, substance abuse, or any combination of those. Although admitting the need and asking for help may be hard, the skills developed in therapy can definitely be worth it.
Regardless of what challenges my clients face, successfully overcoming them begins with first believing that it is possible and then learning what thinking and behavior patterns are getting in the way. I work with clients to not only develop these critical skills but to also reclaim their power they've surrundered to their challenges.
Each and every challenge is unique to each client and exactly why using a standard "one size fits all" approach may not be effective. I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to work with my clients and help to realize and reclaim their power. As a therapist I may not be able to keep trouble away but I can keep clients from dealing with it alone.
