I specialize in evidence based treatments to support people with: PTSD/Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Relationship Concerns, Substance Abuse and Addiction.
** Currently do not have availability** The process of finding a therapist can be tough to navigate. I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation so we can have a chance to connect, ask questions and see if it seems like a good fit for you. My style is warm and authentic and focused on what goals people have for counseling. I provide a supportive space for people to explore gender identity and expression and honor what feels most authentic to them. I meet regularly with people in the LGBTQ community and work to connect people with additional supports and resources if needed.

My approach to therapy is integrative, trauma-informed, and strengths-based.
Do you feel like your past experiences are negatively affecting your present? Or often think you are "not good enough"? This negative belief can stem from hurtful messages from our family, peers, authority figures, and others. It may be difficult to imagine thinking differently. We can work together to help you emotionally process painful experiences and put them into a more self-compassionate perspective, develop your confidence and coping skills, increase feelings of peace and calm, and create more space in your life for what is most meaningful to you. It is possible to find relief with therapeutic support.

I see people of all identities and backgrounds. Those who struggle with anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, stress, and self-esteem. I use an emotionally-focused, psychotherapeutic approach. Psychotherapy is a form of treatment in which self-exploration leads to self-insight. Through the therapy process, it is my mission to promote emotional well-being, positive interpersonal relationships, and a better awareness to one’s inner world. I am registered as a yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance and like to incorporate a mind-body approach in therapy. Mindful movement and meditation is a great way to soothe the nervous system.

I work with trauma and post traumatic stress treatments utilizing CPT and EMDR.
People of all ages can be helped by speaking to a professional about challenges in daily life. The value of the services you receive is related to the effectiveness of the services in meeting your goals. I am committed to providing effective services by maintaining a smaller number of clients, increasing the amount of time I am able to devote to each couple, family, or individual I work with. If you are looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or are just ready to move in a different direction, I look forward to working with you.

We work extensively with PTSD and trauma, and we have a special heart for our military and first-responder communities, with whom we work closely.
Our goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life worth celebrating. We all experience moments that leave us feeling hopeless, sad, frustrated, angry, or frightened. However, life is not meant to be lived in that place of darkness. While we can't change the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. Using complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will help unearth old behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. If you're ready to take steps forward, we are ready to help.

I'm currently accepting new client appointments and have immediate availability. Do you or someone you know struggle with pushing away big emotions? There are many people who try to avoid painful feelings and thoughts. Avoiding and ignoring painful emotions feels good in the moment and can help you survive trauma. However, if you continue to ignore emotional pain, your body can store that pain. As a result, you may feel numb or easily overwhelmed. Avoidance can become addictive, diminish your tolerance, and can lead to you choosing harmful methods to cope with stressors.

Challenges come in all different walks of life, shapes, and sizes. It's the universal one thing everyone must deal with. As a therapist, I try to help my clients develop the skills to be able to deal with whatever challenges they may face with courage, dignity, and the strength to know that eventually they will overcome these challenges. For many these challenges include debilitating depression, intense anxiety, fractured communication skills, trauma, substance abuse, or any combination of those. Although admitting the need and asking for help may be hard, the skills developed in therapy can definitely be worth it.

I work with adults and older teens seeking assistance with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence, substance use, life transitions, and identity development and change. I also welcome clients who are simply seeking growth, greater self-understanding, or a deeper sense of meaning and well-being in their lives; therapy does not always have to be about fixing a problem. Additionally, I have training and background in working with individuals who have experienced non-ordinary states of consciousness, and welcome clients who are seeking to integrate experiences; positive, confusing, or difficult.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
