I am Nate Wilson, Jr., MSW, LCAS. I am a Licensed Clinical Addiction Psychotherapist, Specialist. I’ve been in the field of mental health for over 25 years. I’ve worked with various people from various backgrounds as it relates to cultural diversity such as race, gender, religion, ethnicity, and other distinct groups, each of which has different values and lifestyles. I earned my Master of Clinical Social Work from Fordham University, NYC, NY. I have been practicing in a licensed capacity since 2016. As a therapist, I use eclectic therapy approaches that cover many theories.

At my office, I hope to make sure all feel welcome. I want my clients to know that I hear you and I see you; your pain matters. Brutality at the hands of others is hard to process, but I hope we can go on that journey together. I specialize in trauma recovery, but also treat a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, relationship problems, and more severe disorders. I work with my client to find what therapy methods work best for her/him/them, as we are all different individuals with different needs.

I enjoy working with all ages, especially young children and teens. My areas of interest include traumatic experiences, PTSD, addiction, anxiety, depression and grief. I have had specialized experience working with trauma survivors of a of all ages in a hospital setting. I believe in a collaborative, empathetic, person-centered, holistic approach.

All of our journeys are unique. It is important that each individual finds a path to wellness that is comfortable for them. At times, life brings challenges and roadblocks that require us to seek outside supports. I strive to provide a safe and caring, judgement free environment for individuals to explore and unpack life's difficulties. I provide effective care and give individuals the respect they deserve.

My services include working with individual, couples, family and group counseling with adults, adolescents and children. My training is in the areas of anxiety and depressive disorders, relationship issues, trauma issues, and developmental transitions. I use a therapeutic approach that reflects eclectic influences derived from my training in the psychodynamic, person-centered, family systems, and cognitive-behavioral. I view problems as generally being developmental in nature, and approach each person, couple, family or group in a unique fashion.

I work with humans on feeling more fully into their own experience and allowing space for those in their life to do the same especially through what might seem like the most difficult and painful impasses. These difficulties may include identity, sexual orientation, grief, infidelity, attachment injuries, chronic conditions, addiction, or trauma. My passion is to serve those individuals, couples and families who struggle with substance abuse, mental health and life issues that others may not understand. My Vision and Purpose is to increase individuals, couples and families awareness of addiction and mental health while also educating about healthy relationships, conflict resolution, developing strategies, coping skills to improve the overall quality of one’s life.

No matter our age, race, socioeconomic group, educational level, sexuality, spiritual affiliation (or non-affiliation), or cultural backgrounds we all face the inevitable challenges of life, none of us are exempt from this. Most times we are able to navigate victoriously through these experiences, but sometimes our challenges can leave us so overwhelmed that we have difficulty understanding our situations and coping with our circumstances which makes it very difficult to find a way to overcome them. Ultimately we all want to "live our best life" and sometimes we may need to reach for a trusting hand to help us manifest it.

I am a Psychologist/Neuropsychologist who specializes in trauma and gender identity (WPATH member). I practice in a group setting with another clinician. We offer individual individualized psychotherapy, designed to meet your needs using different best practice models of therapy. We provide evaluations for HRT and gender affirming surgeries (usually within 3 sessions).
