I work with people who have a history of trauma.
Are past traumas impacting your life? Do you say or do things that you later regret? Do you struggle with identifying and communicating your feelings? Do you have intrusive thoughts, flashbacks, or recurring distressing dreams? Do you drink alcohol or use other substances or gamble or do other self-destructive behaviors that cause self-harm or disrupt your life? Are you a people pleaser? Do you struggle with setting boundaries? Anything that keeps you from living a full life is either built on a lie or a self-defeating memory; what is limiting you? What is keeping you from having the life you want?

Do you feel like you need to reach out for help? Do you feel that you've exhausted your personal resources regarding your issues and feel there is nowhere you can turn? Have you considered therapy? Therapy is a confidential process where you can feel safe to talk about the challenges of life and what it is that is bothering you or causing you to need help. Breaking that barrier of admitting one needs help is a very important part of the treatment process.

I work with clients struggling with trauma and PTSD, mood disorders and ADHD to find healing and relief from negative symptoms.
If you’re here looking for a therapist, I’m guessing you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired. Are you struggling with constant negative thoughts and self esteem, anxiety that seems to never go away, or fear from a traumatic experience that’s getting in the way of you living a happy, healthy life? Do you want to start engaging in activities you enjoy instead of being frozen in time, doom scrolling your phone all night, and then doing it all again tomorrow? I will help you navigate and overcome your current struggles, challenge your internal values and belief systems, and provide a safe and judgment free space so you can heal.

I am trained in evidence based trauma therapies including EMDR and CPT.
I specialize in helping Christians integrate their faith into clinical practice and solutions. I am here to support and empower women who have lost their sense of self. There are many obstacles we encounter in life and sometimes it takes someone sitting with us and exploring what is making the mountain seem immovable. I specialize in helping women set up goals and develop a path to achieve them. I enjoy working with married couples, to help them develop healthy ways to handle conflict, and also those trying to blend a family. I also do premarital counseling for engaged couples. I offer evening sessions as well.

I am an Expressive Arts Therapist, trained in Trauma-Informed care and Anti-Oppression practices.
I am non-binary, polyamorous, and pansexual and love providing support to people in the LGBTQ+ community. I love working with children and teenagers, but have no specific age restrictions on my practice. I'm seeking clients who need to explore their emotions, experiences, and behaviors in an expressive way. Talking only gets us so far, whereas in my experience, use of the Expressive Arts (dance, drama, music, art, and writing) has an ability to get at the deeper stuff.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
