I work most often with those with depression, anxiety, trauma and generally needing support to navigate through life challenges.
I have always believed that it is important to celebrate small and big wins in life. Reaching out for help and connecting with a therapist is definitely something to be celebrated. I strive to create a space for you to process, learn new skills and have a support in your corner. I tailor each session to you as an individual and meet you where you are in your journey. I want to support you in your journey and help you accomplish your goals. I work with both children and adults and tailor my approach to what best suits the client.

I have experience working with clients with chronic mental health disorders, in hospice, in residential programs for substance use disorders, childhood trauma and in the midst of challenging transitions.
What's holding you back from living your best life? Is it depression or anxiety? Fear of change? Are you stuck in a cycle of self-medicating? Maybe you're just curious to figure out why you keep repeating old patterns or you're at a crossroad. Therapy can be helpful to develop healthy coping skills, set (and maintain) healthy boundaries and explore the "why" of behaviors you want to change.

Imagine: I have a magic wand and grant you the tools to navigate you or your child's ups and downs. What would be different if you had these tools? I am invested in my clients gaining this ability and will work with you to make your life feel more manageable by building upon strengths. I work with women who have carried around harmful, internalized messages through their lives and are looking to deconstruct and heal. My other love is in working with children. I believe that intervening in a child's life while their brain is permeable and eager to learn can make a difference for the rest of their lives.

As a licensed clinician, I believe in two fundamental truths. The first being "I believe in the possibility of change" and the second "I create a safe space to make that change". These beliefs help people heal and recover. As we develop in life, we all face transition and change. Some of these waters are difficult to navigate through and few of us can do so without a guide or support. I will support you so that you can see a clear path to your desired goals. "The purposes of a person's heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out. " Prov 20:5

Clients see me for existential fatigue from unresolved trauma, loss, grief, relationship conflict, anxiety, depression, addictions/compulsions. Every part of our lives has an opportunity for growth. I believe relationship between therapist and client(s) is a primary factor in determining success in therapy. Clients who see me are usually seeking deeper relationships with themselves, others, and their world, i am here to facilitate that process.

I have extensive experience working with Intergenerational Trauma and narrative work with individuals from different backgrounds and life experiences.
As a mental health counselor I am here to support you, be sympathetic and non-judgmental through your journey. Life can be challenging and at times all we need is compassion and a safe place to express ourselves. I work with my patients and meet them where they are and help them focus on the areas that they identify that needs change or maintenance.

I use a number of therapuetic modalities, (CBT, EMDR, IFS and psychodynamic approaches) to address trauma and addiction, depression and anxiety, as well as relationship issues.
We all encounter challenges in our lives and sometimes require assistance in getting through a rough patch. I am honored to work with individuals seeking a compassionate, interactive and empathetic psychotherapist. By using a collaborative approach, we work together to identify limiting thoughts and beliefs and to reframe them allowing you to create a more empowering and enriching approach to life. With couples, I provide the safe, judgement-free- environment needed to resolve difficult relationship issues and enhance communication skills for you and your partner to use beyond the completion of therapy.

I use my expertise in DBT and trauma-informed care to help people recognize unhealthy patterns and create positive change.
Everything we do serves a purpose for us at some point in time. However, our goals can change and sometimes our once-useful behaviors become ineffective or even harmful. I often describe dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) as “common sense therapy.” Using familiar concepts, DBT helps people recognize when their behaviors are no longer serving them and teaches how to replace them with skills to more effectively meet their needs/goals.

The way that I help people is by using a combination of educating about trauma and trauma symptoms, as well as techniques to get you comfortable existing in your body and able to trust that feelings are safe and a part of human experience.
Currently full with a waitlist; we are running some therapy groups now for those interested. Please feel free to reach out for a consult to join the waitlist or a group! I work with clients who are feeling that they are ready to get well, even if they do not know what that looks like, or even if its possible. I aim to help those who are tired of being told they need to wait to "deal with trauma". Frequently my clients tell me they have figured out how to get through the day, but they are not living their best life.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
