I specialize in healing the wounds that often lead to unhealthy solutions and always operate from a trauma-informed lens.
You’re here! YES! I am so glad you found the courage to pursue help despite the naggy inner voice that told you maybe you shouldn’t. The truth is we ALL need support and we ALL struggle-sometimes a little more than others. Life happens to us all. Are you feeling like life has hit a little too hard lately? Do you just need someone to help you navigate this mess? I’m your person. No matter what issue brought you here, I want to help you find the strength you’ve had all along. I know you want to overcome the struggles that have weighed you down for too long. You deserve freedom, and I am here to help you find it.

Life can be stressful, but when you are confronted with major change, loss or trauma the simplest tasks can feel overwhelming. Therapy can help support, guide and heal current and past events, heal depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, abuse, as well as change patterns that continue to prevent relationship, social and professional goals from being met.

Have an Inner Critic? Learn to lessen the effects of trauma.
Feel like you are always on the outside looking in? Exhausted from people-pleasing? Maybe always felt like the adult growing up. Perhaps struggle to stay in the moment without always planning your next step or the opposite, stuck in the past. Plagued by loneliness? Feel like a burden if you ask of others? Does perfectionism plague you? You'll find a safe and non-judgmental space to speak uncensored and get tools to lessen anxiety and stress; form healthy relationships; and communicate effectively. Forgive yourself for not being Superhuman.

Is life feeling like too much to handle? Are you struggling with your own emotions or in your relationships? As human beings in a fast-paced modern society, we all face daily challenges and stressors. Some of us can navigate these issues on our own and others require a bit of professional support. I encourage clients to view therapy as a journey we embark on together. I have experience working with clients of all ages, and I welcome anyone who is looking to explore ways to improve their quality of life, whether it is due to life transitions, relationship conflicts, past trauma, or managing emotional challenges.

I’ve been a trusted guide and healing catalyst for several decades, helping individuals of all ages, as well as couples and families to address a wide range of issues. We can choose to trudge through our days just barely getting by or we can choose to thrive when faced with difficult life experiences. Trauma can cause your mind and body to feel unfamiliar and scary at times. Distress can take the form of depression, anxiety, racing thoughts, lack of sleep, relationship issues and more. Most of us have some form of trauma in our past. The good news is each of us has an ability to heal from trauma, and seeking a skilled therapist is the first step in that process.

I have over 22 years of experience working with mental health issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, and stress.
I believe that we all have the ability to heal, and that this ability lies within. At times we need someone to walk the journey with us to help us find our inner strength and courage so that we can make positive changes. I believe it is important to work from an integrative perspective as we cannot separate the mind from the body. I see the therapeutic process as a sacred journey, and I would be honored to walk a part of your journey with you.

I have a passion for working with adults with unresolved childhood trauma, no matter how "big" or "small" it may seem.
Perhaps you have once more found yourself in a familiar space of pain. You have been here before and it has become unbearable at this point. The burdens that you carry are overwhelming, and you are feeling that who you have become a shell of who you once were. Maybe you haven't felt like yourself since you were a kid. You've tried to apply what you know in your mind to be true, but there's something that keeps that truth from being felt at your core. You long for healing and rest.

Most likely, if you're reading this, it's because you've hit that wall - and what you do next could make it a true turning point in your life. Do you find yourself feeling anxious and unsatisfied? Even stagnant and exhausted from carrying that proverbial monkey around? I'm absolutely confident that I can help. Why? Because for years I have successfully worked with the most extreme and complex trauma cases. How? RELATIONSHIP. Yes, I'm extensively trained with a litany of certifications, but that is far less important than my personality and approach. Why?

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
