My lived experience as an immigrant gives me first-hand experience with grief, loss, and being an outsider. My clinical experience includes working in a hospital setting, a refugee resettlement agency, and a college. While I have experience working with a variety of issues, I take a special interest in working with young adults, neurodivergence, trauma, family-of-origin issues, and multicultural experiences.

I am passionate about working with you to develop freedom and resilience to deal with past childhood trauma and everyday stress of life. So often life experiences have been traumatic and contribute to struggles with depression, anxiety and inability to function. I work from a somatic and body centered and psycho-dynamic approaches that meets the needs of teens and women with childhood trauma, addictions, anxiety and eating disorders. My specialty is working with people who have issues arising from sexual behavior problems, including sexually abusive behavior, sexual addiction, pornography addiction and Internet addiction. While sex can be a pleasurable part of life, its misuse can lead to infinite heartache and misery. Sexual behavior problems are multifaceted, and are often rooted in an attempt to cope with painful non-sexual issues such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and broken relationships. I work with individuals who have acted out sexually and also with survivors of sexual abuse and trauma.

Hello, I am open and taking new clients! As a person of Hispanic descent and being a 1st generation Mexican-American, I grew up with a stigmatized view of mental health issues and therapy. I heard my family talk a lot about working hard and pushing past traumatic experiences. Most of the time, “pushing past these experiences” meant simply dismissing them— ignoring them. But I began noticing the emotional toll that dismissing difficult experiences had taken in the lives of my family members. I realized that this idea of “working hard” and pushing past traumatic experiences simply doesn’t work to provide growth or healing.
