My approach focuses on utilizing the brain’s ability to adapt through neuroplasticity to develop resiliency over experienced trauma. I have provided therapeutic services to a wide variety of populations including foster children, adjudicated adolescents, victims of domestic violence, service members and their families. I am truly in awe of the ability of the mind to recover and grow beyond the effects of trauma throughout the lifespan. My passion for this process has inspired me to pursue my doctorate in clinical psychology, in order to offer evidence based approaches that encourage lasting life change.

I have been a practicing counselor since 1991. I am duly licensed as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have had great success in treating Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, OCD, marital issues, adolescent issues, adultery, divorce recovery, and complex issues. It can lead to increased stress, anxiety, depression, and difficulty in relationships. Some people with trauma, may not even identify their lives as traumatic, but still feel blocked and stuck, and have difficulty understanding why. The mechanisms through which trauma present itself is complex and extensive, but through deep work and the therapeutic process, healing is possible.

I focus on two areas - relationships and trauma/PTSD - with couples, individuals, and families. Couples often struggle with a lack of emotional and physical intimacy, they've lost respect & trust for each other, have little companionship, poor communication, argue about finances, sex, children, etc. Trauma/PTSD is often an underlying cause of relationship problems. Many struggle with mental health and substance use as a result. They feel stressed, damaged, alone, numb, can't sleep/concentrate, have racing thoughts, mood swings, anger.
