I work with adults facing challenges in relationships, trauma, or grief.
Do you seem successful on paper, yet feel unfulfilled inside? Maybe you're exhausted from striving for happiness, or your relationships aren’t as rewarding as you'd like. It's possible your past is affecting your current feelings, leading to moments of hopelessness about ever feeling content. You might struggle to recall a time when life felt different. However, you're definitely ready for a change, seeking relief and eager to rebuild your confidence and connect more deeply in your relationships.

Life’s journey includes many difficulties, including challenges for individuals, couples, and families. Therapy provides a confidential and safe space where feelings can be explored, new skills can be acquired, and healing can begin. Seeking guidance is an important first step. I have experience working survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and other trauma. Trauma often surfaces in ways we may not realize as we do not always know how to articulate and process our emotions. I take a collaborative approach with my clients to identify problem areas, goals, and learn to identify and express their feelings.

Through my own recovery from early trauma, I know that true healing cannot occur until you fully enlist your mind, body and spirit.
Are you struggling with anxiety, grief, depression, or just feel disconnected in your life? Do you feel sometimes like you are "too much" or misunderstood in your relationships? If you have experienced trauma, traditional talk therapy is often not enough for creating lasting change. A holistic, integrated approach allows you to tap into the body's innate wisdom. I assist individuals and couples in the areas of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship problems, sexuality, boundaries, self-esteem, spiritual and existential questions.

Although I am highly experienced in working with anxiety and trauma, my passion is to help women over 50 get into a loving relationship. Are you lonely? Being lonely has many ill effects upon your health and quality of life. Love adds years of better health and a longer life. I specialize in helping women get rid of past baggage (such as trauma, physical or emotional abuse not being able to receive love.) You will learn how to avoid repeating past dysfunctional patterns, and then how find the man to create the great relationship of your dreams.

As a trauma-sensitive and holistic clinician, I approach therapy from a mind-body-spirit lens, integrating brain-body, psychodynamic, internal family systems, psycho-spiritual, and relational modalities.
Life often places obstacles on our path, which can leave us feeling stuck, in pain, uncertain of how to move forward. I specialize in guiding those who arrive here by creating a nurturing and curious space to help you explore, unearth, and effectively heal untended internal wounds. My passion and expertise lie in supporting people in healing from childhood abuse and neglect, sexual violence, complex loss, and ancestral and identity-based trauma. Many also turn to me to better understand with who they truly are, their roles within relationships, and their unique purpose, or to prepare for and integrate psychedelic healing journeys.

My background is in working with substance use disorders, trauma, anxiety, and OCD.
I am a therapist that brings compassion, curiosity, and connection to the forefront of our work together. As your therapist, I believe providing a supportive, empathetic environment is key in creating a space where you can gain insight, access your inner strength, and move forward with your healing. During the process, we may look at your past to see what beliefs still serve you and which do not, identify emotions and process them, and focus on navigating and developing your connections to others and self.

I believe in all people’s innate capacity to heal. To me, all symptoms that we experience whether it be chronic pain, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, etc can be explained by trauma. Trauma does not have to be big events. Trauma can be if we are not attuned to emotionally as children or if our parents have their own unprocessed trauma—this sort of trauma often leads to deep seeded beliefs that we are unloveable and bad. Our healing comes from teaching our parts that we are loveable and accepted just as we are.

Individual and group therapy are integrative, evidence-based and trauma-sensitive.
Chronic disconnect in brain-body-psyche networks cause abnormal wear 'n' tear resulting in premature aging, illness and reduced quality of life. Common warning signs include pain, anxiety and profound melancholy.  Lifestyle imbalances morph into sleep disorders and addictions. Loneliness quickly oscillates to overstimulation and overwhelm leaving many trapped in the depths of isolation.  Perfectionism and procrastination thwart our best laid plans leading to learned helplessness. Human suffering is immensely burdensome, but the weight of the world is not ours to carry alone.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
