As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I work with clients living with a range of experiences from healing Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD), self-discovery and acceptance within oppressive systems, healing mother - daughter relationships, finding wholeness after narcissistic abuse, strengthening the heart after the loss of a loved one and much more. To assist, I use an eclectic approach that can include theories from EMDR Therapy, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, and the Internal Family System. When artfully combined, these principles help to awaken change and ripple out improvement in the internal and external realities.

Whether you are working through anxiety issues, trauma, PTSD, self-esteem, ED, parenting skills, lack of intimacy, why you chose the wrong partner, communication, or life transitions - I believe transformation is possible you don't have to do it alone.
Are you tired of carrying the heavy burden of anxiety alone, not knowing where to turn or how to free yourself from its grip? This weight not only stops you from being your authentic self but also holds you back from achieving what you truly desire, whether it's in your relationships, career, home, or elsewhere. Perhaps you're yearning for a fulfilling relationship, a successful career, or a place you can truly call home, but anxiety keeps getting in the way. It's a common struggle, one that can make you feel stuck and unable to move forward. But it doesn't have to be this way. Together, we can break free from the chains of anxiety

As a therapist, I value and create a safe, nurturing, and empathic environment for individuals, couples, and families to explore underlying issues to relationship problems, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and addictions. I am trained & certified in EMDR, which helps a person to quickly move through recent and past trauma and successfully overcome symptoms related to PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). We'll work together to help you find a healthy balance between body, mind, and emotions that allow for success in relationships and work, self-empowerment, and to live a life full of hope, meaning, and purpose.

I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, and trauma.
It is my passion to help others live happier, calmer, and more fulfilling lives. Much of our inexplicable behavior and habits that hold us back are rooted in our genes, childhood, family dynamics, traumas, and circumstances. I help my clients to understand what holds them back and move through it. I help them to overcome difficult transitions and parenting challenges. I help them to improve their relationships, change negative lifestyle habits, reduce stress, improve confidence and self-esteem, uncover their passions, and eventually become true selves.

I support clients facing difficult transitions, especially grief, loss and trauma.
If you are searching for a therapist to trust with the tough stuff, I am that therapist. Let's be real, none of us have the perfect life, perfect family or perfect attitude at all times- guess what? Me neither! This means I am not fragile, I've been through devastating traumas, the gut wrenching pain of grief and the shakiness of self-doubt. We are all human and we all have different experiences with life. Your unique knowledge including your spirituality, culture and generational awareness can become your superpower to creating, realizing and understanding the world that you live in. Let's talk about it.

I am trained in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy as well as childhood trauma and incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy to create a customized treatment plan to serve each client’s needs.
We strive to live our best lives, enjoy good experiences, and become content when we reflect on our past adventures. However, we often feel lost or disappointed when we are faced with obstacles. When we feel that moving forward has become more of a challenge and stress, anxiety and depression are holding us back; professional help is required to help maintain our foundation to allow us to move forward.

I am an advocate for the soul’s desire for expansion and connection with others. I work in the service of the psyche to bring unconscious material to the conscious to facilitate sustainable change, transformation, and growth. I welcome you as you are, whether you are suffering from a dependency, such as problematic substance use, or a mental health condition, like trauma-related difficulties. I incorporate both the Twelve Step and harm reduction methods in my practice. Since I honor and see the value in both modalities, I will work collaboratively with you to determine which approach would best serve your path towards wholeness.

I am a trauma specialist.
I believe that each of us has an inner guiding wisdom that knows which decisions and directions are best for us. Through the process of listening to symptoms, feelings, and reactions, it becomes possible to reconnect to that wisdom and navigate through difficulties and challenges. Issues such as anxiety, depression, fears, weight, and insomnia are often symptoms that can teach us about what is working and what is no longer working in our lives. I can help turn old habits and responses into positive changes and create life-long tools for coping and moving forward. My approach is unique and effective.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
