I have experience working with adults on issues related to self-esteem, anxiety, identity, ADHD, ASD, trauma, & healthy boundaries.
Have a few spots open for new clients! (as of 4/16/24) / / / My time as a Therapist/Human has given me a chance to grow, learn, and partner with a beautiful mixture of people and personalities. Thru this, I've learned the value of consulting the research AND trusting the lived experience of the person in front of me. My approach to therapy has some "Golden Retriever" energy - friendly, enthusiastic, curious, and ready for some puzzle-solving! (Lol.) Folks tend to find my support most helpful when they feel ready for direct, supportive, sometimes playful feedback to help sort thru and navigate the wild challenges Life brings.

Unresolved relational issues. Past trauma that has begun affecting your normal routine. Marriage is going through a hard time. Family life is full of stress and conflict. Anxiety keeps growing and becoming more intense. These are all part of being human and being in relationship, and it’s OK to ask for help in the midst of them.

I am currently completing training in Somatic Experiencing which takes a bottom up approach in trauma healing and addresses how trauma is stored in our bodies.
Reaching out for support can be difficult. Often when we finally decide to reach out we are already experiencing overwhelm and feeling discouraged. Maybe you are experiencing anxiety, having difficulty sleeping, being more irritable than usual, or having difficulty enjoying things in your day to day life. If you've experienced trauma you could be struggling with flashbacks, fear, avoidance, and difficulty moving forward in you life. Maybe your child or teen is having new behaviors, tantrums, isolation, or difficulty with connection. I am here for all of you and will stand with you on your healing journey.

in Clinical Psychology informs a relational, neurobiological approach to depression, anxiety, trauma.
Life prompts us toward growth and health, leading us to change thoughts, feelings, behaviors, or beliefs that keep us from peace and joy. Difficult childhood or adult experiences may disrupt our ability to connect well with our emotions and deepest heart's desires, making it challenging to have satisfying, healthy relationships. For over 20 years I have helped individuals and couples to heal old wounds and grow past outworn patterns into greater freedom and heart connections. Are you ready to answer life's call to grow? I offer myself as a trustworthy companion in the next phase of your life's journey.

I practice from an attachment/emotion-focused, body-centered, experiential, and trauma-informed perspective, and have received training in EMDR and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
As a therapist who works with individuals and couples, I strive to create a safe, open space for my clients to share their story. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship - based on trust, respect, and authenticity - is vital to the healing process. In addition, I believe that everyone's story is uniquely important and that the journey towards healing begins with one's story being heard and understood. I consider it an honor and a privilege to walk with my clients as they take steps toward freedom from current and past wounds.

Maybe you're feeling stuck in the same cycles you can't seem to break out of. Maybe you're struggling to maintain relationships that feel safe and supportive. Maybe you know that you've been impacted by the painful experiences you've had, but you don't know where to start with unpacking them. It can be scary to face your pain, and you deserve support. You're not too much, and you're not alone. I want to support you with deepening your self-understanding and self-compassion. Healing is possible when you're ready to start.

I have an excellent track record with clients whose trauma histories stand in the way of happy, satisfying sex lives.
Do painful issues from your past keep you from having the sex life you want? I've helped many people make peace with their very worst memories, allowing them to build lives, love, and futures that had been out of reach before. Do you struggle with sexual behaviors that you can't control, or with guilt or shame about your behaviors or desires? I also have excellent experience helping clients with out-of-control or maladaptive sexual behaviors, what others often call "sex addiction".

My work specializes in trauma informed care and spiritually focused counseling. I am trained in EMDR and Somatic Experiencing. I have learned throughout the years that thorough healing comes not only from addressing our wounds and traumas but from a deep exploration of what we have decided about ourselves and our place in the world. I am highly valued as a compassionate, competent therapist who will provide understanding and skills that support moving through and coping with traumatic events/responses recent and past, and the spiritual evolution born out of traumatic wounds.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
