Treatment areas include but are not limited to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, addiction, grief, PTSD, and communication.
Life is full of moments. At times, moments are difficult or negative. Those moments can be full of life scenarios including mental health difficulties that are overwhelming and hard to maneuver alone. My desire is to work with you and empower you to understand your obstacles, provide a safe place to work through them, and become who you have always been destined to be.

I have been working with clients who have had trauma throughout their life. Their symptoms are anxiety, depression, panic attacks, negative self-talk, rumination, and unhealthy relations. We work on establishing where these thoughts, ideas, and behaviors stem from and how to make healthy changes in every area of their lives. I focus on their chosen words and the negative self-talk perpetuating these symptoms.

My passion is to help clients with relationship issues and/or trauma.
In relationships, do you constantly second guess yourself, feel unworthy or give so much to others that you neglect yourself? Do you feel stuck and can't find your way out of unhealthy patterns? Therapy can be helpful to obtain awareness of the root cause of these issues such as an abusive relationship, challenging childhood or other traumas which we can then strategize the best way to build your skills for healthy behaviors and decision making so you can obtain the optimal life you want.

My approach is to collaborate with you and draw from several trauma-informed, therapeutic approaches to make suggestions and find what helps most.
I am currently accepting new clients for telehealth appointments Monday - Thursday. If you are feeling overwhelmed or down, maybe asking yourself questions like “Why do I keep doing this when I know it makes things worse, not better?” or “Why do my thoughts or emotions feel so out of control?,” or "I am really unhappy in this situation but how am I going to change it?"- I would like to help you find answers and learn how to start feeling better! I offer a caring and nonjudgmental place to unload what is bothering you, and I will draw from experience and mental health expertise to help you see a new way forward.

I am especially skilled at helping clients with trauma or PTSD by using EMDR and IFS.
Therapy can be weird. It can be uncomfortable to open up to a stranger about your thoughts, feelings, traumatic memories, and expose the aspects of you that are unhealthy. Therapy can also be a space where you allow yourself to be fully known, fully valued, and more clearly understood. My goal is to create an environment where you can more fully understand yourself, accept yourself, and allow yourself to grow in order to live an exciting and fulfilling life. I most often work with people who have experienced complex trauma, and struggle with addictive or out-of-control patterns as a result.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
