I offer an open, non-judgemental space where you can speak honestly about your thoughts and experiences while working towards your personal goals. As a queer, trauma-informed sex therapist, I enjoy working together to deconstruct the social scripts, pressures and ‘shoulds’ that often get in the way of our growth, healing and liberation. Some areas that I am especially passionate about working with are anxiety, self-esteem, life transitions, gender identity, sexuality, relationship dynamics, existential questioning, sexual trauma and chronic pain.

Trauma cuts deep. It has the ability to knock the wind out of you and throw you off course. It can creep up gradually, or sometimes feel as though it strikes all at once. The process of finding someone that you trust to work with you in some of your most tender moments can be incredibly intimidating. I would be honored to talk with you and see if we would be a good match in your process of healing.

I'm certified in treating anxiety (CCATP), have advanced training in Sex Therapy & certified in EMDR—a powerful tool shown to reduce the negative effects of trauma & emotional pain.
"Time does not heal all wounds; it just gives them space to sink into the subconscious, where they continue to impact your emotions and behavior. What heals is going inward, loving yourself, accepting yourself, listening to your needs, addressing your attachments and emotional history and following your intuition" (Yung Pueblo). I partner with my clients to help them find their voice, tell their story, re-engage their strengths and cultivate new ways to stay mindful and grounded—no matter what life throws at them. I work with couples and adults suffering from depression, anxiety, relationship challenges and LGBTQI-related issues.

I am also trained in EMDR, which is a psychotherapy method developed to help people recover from trauma and painful life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression and panic disorder.
The main predictor that determines if therapy will be successful is the client’s connection with their therapist. That is why it is crucial to find a therapist who is empathetic to your journey and approaches you without judgment. It is my goal to empower my clients to take the lead in their therapeutic journey. I work alongside you in a warm and understanding environment where you can explore your emotions and find better ways to deal with the stressors in life. We will collaborate to increase your self-esteem, develop healthy boundaries and enhance your relationships.

I support clients journeying through a vast array of concerns, in particular gender & sexuality exploration; adoptee/donor-conceived identity; trauma; chronic pain; and neurodiversity.
When you’re experiencing the full chaos of living, it can be hard to find ways to meaningfully show up for yourself. As an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist, my goal is to open a space for you to pause, take a breath, and feel understood as you connect with who you are and where you are in the moment. I work across the lifespan with children (ages 5+), adolescents, and adults looking for a safe and nurturing environment to explore their multifaceted identities, relationships, and past/current/future lived experiences.

I integrate cognitive, somatic, and yogic modalities from a trauma-informed lens.
You may sense your potential for greater wellness, but feel weighed down by the pressure and uncertainty of our times. Perhaps you find yourself repeating patterns that no longer serve you, stuck in a job or relationships that don’t feel meaningful, or haunted by painful emotions and memories. Maybe you just feel something is off. No matter where you are on your journey, I welcome you exactly as you are and I’m honored to support you in meeting your highest potential. Empaths, creatives, and entrepreneurs who crave healing and expansion often work with me to explore what’s keeping them stuck and create more harmony.

I understand how difficult it is to feel anxious, sad, or depressed, and how those feelings can impact the relationships in your life. You do not have to face these challenges alone. My work as a therapist centers on providing empathy, understanding, and a safe place where you can openly express your thoughts and feelings. Together, we will process how the experiences and relationships in your life have affected your mood, your happiness, the way you communicate with others, and more importantly, the way you view yourself.

You will differentiate between sensations and emotions, necessary to recover from trauma, reduce symptoms of depression and alleviate anxiety.
Interested in exploring Body Psychotherapy? Somatic interventions can make a difference. Neuroscience tells us how every aspect of our awareness involves the body. So why would psychotherapy be any different? I will assist you in developing somatic skills to regulate your nervous system and feel more deeply connected with yourself. See how this directly impacts your capacity for genuine connection with others and allows you to make Inherently satisfying choices about how you live your life.

I assist individuals & couples in learning to address their inner life through an approach that helps work with "unfinished family business" from childhood that shows up today as unstable/conflictual relationships, depression, anxiety, trauma, etc. I bring over 21 years of experience working with individuals of various self-identities who seek to address either short-term issues/conflicts or desire to work on a deeper level psychologically. I specialize in working with gays & lesbians, though my approach is ideal for all persons, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, who seek a more authentic lived experience.

I specialize in treating psychological trauma and related anxiety and depression using approaches anchored in current research and a holistic sensibility.
If you are moving through a difficult transition or wanting to tend to the deeper psychological aspects of past traumatic situations or persistent addictions, my work can help you. My training is based in a psychoanalytic perspective coupled with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy and a genuine appreciation for sexual, cultural, and spiritual diversity. A psychoanalytic view suggests that current problems may be sourced in unconscious patterns, often rooted in the past, that would benefit from attention and understanding. Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy helps reduce addictive behaviors and anxiety through the practice of gentle self observation and present moment awareness.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
