Whether you are dealing with a crisis, want to explore unresolved trauma, questioning your identity, struggling with life changes, want to learn stress management or mindfulness techniques, need help navigating your relationships, or want to discover ways you can address/cope with racial trauma, I want to assist you on your journey to healing.
I am a Mental Health Counselor with over 10 years in the mental health field. I prefer for my sessions to be more conversational and less rigid and “clinical,” as clients seem to respond best to a more relaxed flow. I truly want us to be partners in our therapeutic relationship. I always strive to ensure my clients feel like their emotions are validated, that they have a safe space to open up and be vulnerable, and that they are free from judgement during our time together. Loveland Vouchers Accepted!

My work focuses in healing the inner child, mind, and body through an array of evidence-based trauma approaches.
The pursuit of happiness and the quest for meaning are at the center of our human experience, and at times, our own self imposed limitations get in the way of us getting there. Showing up as stress, self-sabotage, anxiety, low energy and a general feeling of lack in our lives. But good news! you don't have to live this way anymore. This is not a band aid fix approach. We will get to the root of the problem and solve it, for good.

Depression, Anxiety, and Stress sometimes you might feel that is is your baseline, and you should just get used to living with those feelings. You don't have to just accept your feelings, but you can actually experience emotional healing. My goal as a therapist is to support you to move to a place where you are loving the life that you live. I have extensive experience doing community based trauma healing work in NYC with LGBTQ populations, immigrants, and hospital based mental health therapy.

Working with individuals with a wide range of conditions such as depression, anxiety, all sorts of trauma, behavioral issues, etc.
You have made the first step! Mental Health is the only part of our wellness we tend to neglect. Take a minute to think about it. If one of your loved one's were to say or complain about chest pain, I’m sure you would not hesitate to seek help. We want to see our loved one's live a long and healthy life and if we could assist in that process, we are going to do everything in our power to do so. Wouldn't you agree? Then what about our mental health? This is what we tend to ignore.

If you experienced trauma and feel stuck, I’ll also use EMDR to facilitate reprocessing and give you tools to move forward.
Let’s prioritize your wants, needs, and desires. Therapy is a space where you get to receive the attention you may have not been gifting yourself. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, LGBTQ+ challenges, or any other stressors, let’s collaborate to create a life that serves you on your terms. I support adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma. One of my specialties is providing support to LGBTQ+ populations. As a transgender woman, I know first-hand what it’s like to be part of an oppressed group living in a world that is unkind to people like me.

If you are dealing with anxiety, depression, or trauma you know how debilitating these conditions can be. It is even more so challenging when navigating these struggles in a foreign or oppressive culture. I’ve dealt with this first hand and I know how rare it is to find somebody that can relate to one’s lived experience. By providing a listening ear and a compassionate space I can help support you on your healing journey.

Are you a professional managing a career, dealing with family obligations or perhaps addressing life transitions that are causing you to feel insecure and unmanageable? I get it. There are days you feel like you’ve lost control, can't make decisions or you question your choices especially if you’re feeling overwhelmed. You may even want to give up! And that’s OK. We don’t always have the answers or the energy to do it all. The expectations that others put on us or the ones we put on ourselves, rarely gives us permission to make mistakes. When do you give yourself permission to care of YOU?

I am a caring and compassionate listener. My style is open, relational and collaborative. It is important to me to provide an environment that is safe and non-judgemental, where a person can develop a sense of trust and well-being. I believe the most effective therapy centers on the connection between client and therapist. In collaborating together, we take a deeply personal journey, exploring possibilities and facing what has been difficult. My goal is to help my client heal and guide them toward increased self knowledge, emotional comfort and relationship satisfaction.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
