Over the past 14 years I have put together a unique system of problem solving and planning called "Growing The Whole Way". This system teaches how to think bigger and work with the mind, body, and spirit for better results in making change. It also supports taking care of yourself in the process. My workbook includes key concepts and practical strategies to help with motivation, organization, and meaningful planning. It also teaches efficiency along with follow through and self development. Once complete this book can become a personalized reference outside of session time. This system can also be used again for future goals.

Welcome! I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker providing therapy to individuals in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Many of my clients have an interest in spirituality or spiritual practices & they identify as deep thinkers and want to learn more about themselves. My clients often begin therapy because they are feeling a sense of 'stuckness' or that something is getting in their way of living an authentic life, feeling empowered, being happy, or having meaningful relationships and experiences.

Frank Sorensen, M.Ed, LMHC, LCDP is a psychotherapist with over twenty years experience counseling adolescents and adults with substance abuse and mental health issues. He has worked with diverse populations in various clinical settings such as hospitals, prisons, residential and intensive outpatient treatment programs. Frank obtained his Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Cambridge College in 1999. Frank has a deep respect for each individual he encounters in his practice. He sees the innate goodness and the potential for wholeness in every person.

As a licensed mental health counselor, I approach the process of therapy as an art and a science requiring both creativity and skill. Thus, my approach to therapy is as diverse as my clientele. As rapport is built, I use interventions that resonate with the individual. DBT, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing are examples of modalities I use complimentary to my psychoanalytic training.

Together, we'll create a safe space that helps you search for and find your unique answers. Rather than focus on disorders, we'll explore where your journey is leading you. My foundation in creativity, energy work and spirit-mind-body approaches will help you discover insights that lead to transformation. My clients include psychotherapists, parents, holistic leaders, artists, grandparents, writers, students, professionals-people who sense that pain and longing don't mean a person is broken; such experiences are simply a call toward greater wholeness. I'll compassionately receive, support and guide as you navigate life's challenges.

Problems are meant to be worked on, people are meant to be worked with. The therapy process offers a way to work through your problems while you are partnered with, heard and supported.
