I have been in private practice for over 27 years, prior to that I worked at Morristown Memorial Hospital in their outpatient department working extensively with those dealing with issues of sexual abuse and trauma. I have been practicing mindfulness meditation for over 20 years which allows me to offer the skill of presence where healing can occur. I believe we all have the potential to become whole through love and acceptance, especially of ourselves. Focusing on inner child work as well as non-duel spiritual teachings.

I specialize in sex/relationship therapy (including non-monogamy and kink dynamics), LGBTQ+ specific concerns, ketamine assisted therapy/psychedelic integration, depression/anxiety/trauma treatment, and general personal growth. I work with adult individuals, couples, and non-monogamous dynamics, am LGBTQ+ proficient, and provide practical and common sense feedback that is also evidence-based. I truly understand how it feels to be at a point in life where changes need to happen, and am happy to support you as your new journey unfolds. I am also a provider of continuing education workshops, and available for clinical supervision.

I particularly enjoy working with clients who are seeking some level of self-understanding. Clients going through major life transitions and developmental stages throughout the lifespan I find benefit the most from my approach.

I also work with adults who are experiencing life challenges that are making them anxious or fearful. My experience has centered around children and families who are experiencing divorce, trauma/abuse, familial upset, emotional disequilibrium, behavioral issues, anxiety, family conflict, mood disorders, self-harm, depression, PTSD, and self-medicating behaviors.

Chanel earned her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercy College, Bachelor’s in Psychology with Dual Minors in Women's Studies and Urban Studies from Lehman College. Chanel dedicated her undergraduate and graduate years to advocating and completing extensive research, including her graduate thesis, on serving the LGBTQ+ community.
