"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." This Emerson quote resonates with me because although people have endured very painful events in their lives and may face difficult days ahead, the strength of the human spirit never ceases to amaze me with its resiliency. When people enter into treatment, I consider it a privilege to help them through difficult times in their lives. Whether the problem is a personal, marital, or parenting difficulty, I meet them where they are at and work alongside them to increase awareness, personal empowerment, and life satisfaction.
After obtaining my doctoral degree from Loma Linda University in 2004, i completed a Fellowship in clinical psychology at an inpatient forensic hospital. Since that time I have worked as a psychologist at a hospital in various roles from unit psychologist to behavior specialist working with forensically committed patients.
I have advanced training in analytic therapy, Gestalt therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and experience treating people with various difficulties ranging from adjusting to life transitions to living with serious mental illness.
