Adults are facing unique challenges as they navigate today’s world. Whether they are trying to manage the stress of changes at work and home, parenting in an ever-changing society, or trying to adjust to identity changes during midlife, people are realizing that support helps. Many people - especially men - have begun discovering that the education and skill-building that comes from therapeutic support is helpful; others are considering therapy for the first time. I've worked as a therapist for over 30 years. Wherever you are in your thinking, I am here to help you decide whether therapy is something you want to explore.

After 33 years of experience with adults, children, families, and couples, and many transformational groups, I developed Heart Path Therapy® (HPT), integrating the most life changing tools. They include ancient spiritual wisdom, guided imagery, inner childwork, energy psychology (similar to EFT & EMDR), use of sound, and ancestral connection work (Family Constellations). The goal is to transform emotional and relational struggles by bringing compassion to the source and in turn empower a greater sense of meaning and purpose in life. Join an adolescent or adult HPT® GROUP, inspiring online heart opening communities.

Each of us experience stress, anxiety, depression, and grief throughout life, and the need for love, safety, respect, and nurturing. The question isn't whether you can eliminate these feelings and needs; rather the question to ask is; "How do I take responsibility for fully understanding myself?" I declare that everyone is being called to discover themselves in the deepest sense. "What is your spirit communicating to you?" "What do you need to live a healthy life?" As you ponder these questions, I believe that your pain is what pushes you and your vision is what pulls you through life.

Not accepting new clients
I am a strength-based and collaborative therapist who utilizes systems theory, narrative therapy, social justice and trauma focused models. I also provide EMDR for clients both as individuals and within couples work. I believe that clients are the experts in their own lives. I believe every client has the right and ability to author their own story. I am passionate about working with those suffering from trauma (including as the result of experiencing oppression), grief and loss, life changes, family conflict, anxiety and depression as well as any problem getting in the way of connection with others and self.

Transpersonal Therapists

How does transpersonal therapy work?

Transpersonal therapy focuses on a patient’s spirituality and meaning in life. Transpersonal therapists might borrow from Eastern traditions as well as Western psychology. They may incorporate techniques including meditation, visualization, hypnotherapy, dream analysis, and or breathwork to produce altered states of consciousness. The therapist helps the patient to access their consciousness and spirituality to work through difficult mental states.

How long does transpersonal therapy last?

Because the goal is to understand a person as a whole, including their spirituality, treatment can range from months to a year or beyond. While patients learn the philosophy behind transpersonal therapy during treatment, they can also practice its principles throughout life after therapy sessions have ended.

Is transpersonal therapy effective?

Patients have found success with transpersonal therapy; this method is useful in improving anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, fears, relationship problems, and other concerns. Improvements in problem areas can continue even after transpersonal therapy ends, as individuals can utilize the tools they’ve learned during treatment sessions.

What are the limitations of transpersonal therapy?

There is some research on the effectiveness of transpersonal therapy, but empirical support for this therapy approach is sparse. It does not have the robust evidence base of other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy.
