Illumé North is a mental health center dedicated to preventing sexual abuse, increasing awareness of sexual health, and healing the effects of sexual trauma. Located in Duluth, Minnesota, and offering services in both Minnesota and Wisconsin, our experienced team offers psychotherapy and assessment services throughout the state, with a focus on sexual concerns and disorders as well as harmful sexual behavior. We are proud to offer sexual health treatment and assessment services to remote locations through telehealth, allowing for increased access to care and for expanded community safety.

My preference is to work with the adult population. I work well with trauma recovery for both victims and offenders. I am well versed in working with addictions issues. I believe that each individual has the resources they need to cope with the issues of their life and be the person they would like to be, stored within them. After identifying and learning what these behaviors and thoughts are, we can work to find healthy and productive thoughts and behaviors.

Andrea Mousel has a Master’s degree in psychotherapy and counseling from Adler Graduate School. She is licensed as a mental health professional in the state of Minnesota as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (license number 2013). She completed over 90 hours of clinical hypnosis through the Minnesota Society of Clinical Hypnosis and is trained in EMDR I and II. She is also certified in the State of Minnesota as a gambling treatment provider. Andrea Mousel has been in private practice since 2010 and has over 13 years' experience.

We offer flexible hours, including night time and weekend appointments. We realize when you are in crisis, you need to be seen as soon as possible. We will work with you to get you in within one week. I have worked with a variety of populations; urban and rural, racial and ethnic, cultural and religious, age and socio economic level. I have done counseling with children, adolescents, families and individuals. I have skills in crisis intervention, diagnosis and assessment, short term counseling, and group work. I have worked in the areas of sexual and domestic violence, serious and persistent mental illness, chronic pain and disease issues. I help clients adjust and cope with life changing events.

Therapy should be a comfortable space where clients can explore problems, understand themselves and their experiences, and make necessary changes to build more fulfilling and authentic lives. Much of my work has been focused on serving Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, LGBTQ2+, and working-class people struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, discrimination, relationships, identity, transitioning, disability, work, and family. My goal is to promote self-determination and work collaboratively with clients so they feel deeply understood, connected, and more empowered to move toward genuine healing and growth.
