Her areas of interests include working with trauma (relational, shock, ancestral, and vicarious); healing from attachment wounds; recovery; grief; anxiety; radical self-love and acceptance; and finding paths to vitality, joy, and ritual in everyday life. Coming from a blended family that is White, Black, Latinx, and Jewish, Emma is also passionate about helping individuals and families navigate identify dynamics in nontraditional family systems.

My perspective embraces self-awareness as one of the main instruments in helping free up trauma. Fuller awareness removes the fear of the unknown, gives us distance from distress and the ability to disconnect from automatic behaviors that perpetuate negative reactions and feelings. In the words of international trauma experts “its teaching our clients how to focus on new stimuli they normally might not have noticed...” with “conscious inhibition of old responses”(Jana Fisher and Pat Ogden, March 2011). The intricacies of our humanness prevents freedom from all depression, anxiety, neurosis and traumatic bodily sensations. Yet.....

I provide therapy for individuals & teens dealing with anxiety, depression, and trauma. I help to identify negative narratives, defensive mechanisms, and the inner critic. I work in tandem with couples experiencing disconnect, communication issues, and the aftermath of affairs. In my work, I provide a safe space to express emotions, offer a compassionate, warm and non-judgmental support, and I believe that everyone is different and individually tailor therapy for my clients. As I assist you through your therapeutic process, together we work towards personal growth, personal empowerment, love, and self-acceptance.

I help couples who have experienced wounding or have drifted apart, feel connected and whole again. I also help couples who are on the brink of separation or divorce decide whether to try to restore their marriage to health, or move towards divorce. I help individuals improve their relationships with others, and develop new connections that bring increased sense of worth and emotional aliveness. I also work with adolescents questioning their sexuality and gender-expansive youth. I have a flexible schedule with afternoon, evening and Saturday appointments.
