I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in the state of Texas. I graduated with a Masters of Science in Counseling from Southern Methodist University. Throughout my career I have had experience in working with clients who have depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, dissociative identity disorder, schizoaffective disorder, gender/identity struggles, life adjustment stressors, grief, phobias, and PTSD/trauma. I am trained to treat clients with Trauma, PTSD, and a other disorders through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

I specialize in men’s issues. I've always felt pushed to be a "lone-wolf" and culture told me to "be a man" or "get over it" when it came to my emotions. As men, when we have a problem we deal with it on our own, often by using pornography, drinking, playing video games, or searching elsewhere for affection. We lie, we defend, we run. We constantly look for peace and acceptance, even if it’s temporary or fake. It can feel hard to trust those closest to us and we may think, “No one is going to take care of my needs but me” or "if they really knew me, they would leave me."

I specialize in adolescent, young adult, and play therapy, and have worked with these populations in various capacities for more than ten years, including as a counseling intern at Communities in Schools and a program therapist at the Eating Recovery Center. My experience has prepared me to work with crisis situations, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, interpersonal issues, grief, coping skills, and LGBTQIA+ issues. I specifically have a heart for clients who are navigating and processing their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. My story is a bit unique as to how I became a psychotherapist. I studied abroad in Costa Rica during college where I learned the Spanish language and where my love of adventure and exploration began. After moving to Los Angeles for several years, I decided to then move to New York City to pursue a career in music which is my first love. I was living in NYC and working for Sony Music on September 11, 2001 which changed my life dramatically. I decided to return to The University of Texas in Austin and obtained my Masters in Social Work in an effort to pursue a career in helping others which is my second love.

I love working with individuals who are ready to face the challenges of life in positive, proactive ways. I work to meet my clients where they are and then companion them on their personal journey toward health and wellness in all ares of their lives. I work best with individuals who are struggling with loss/grief; major life transitions such as health or career changes; and the aftermath of traumatic life events. I partner with my clients to create practical solutions to life challenges that hinder their personal progress.

I firmly believe that there is no "one size fits all" answer for successful therapy, and I strive to create a personal therapeutic relationship with each individual in order to identify the best approach. My professional training is rooted in psychodynamic theory and my therapeutic approach is eclectic. Rather than adhering to a single strict treatment philosophy, your sessions will be fluid and collaborative based on your unique goals and needs. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship, and will be honored if you allow me to be a part of your personal therapeutic journey.

The most important relationship you will ever have is the one with yourself! You have the potential to be the most authentic version of yourself, but maybe you may feel stuck in a relationship, have suffered trauma, struggle with depression or anxiety, or have a hard time moving on from something in your past. I work mostly with clients who have difficulty with depression and/or anxiety, suffered trauma, self-esteem and self-worth issues, and codependency/relationship issues.
