If you are struggling with family problems, depression, anxiety, issues with motivation, or difficulty managing stress, I look forward to collaborating with you to determine how you and I can work together to help you best reach your goals. I am a licensed psychologist, licensed marriage and family therapist, and an international divorce, and coparenting coach. I am Level II trained in the Gottman Method, and utilize this extensively with couples.
I have been working with adults, couples, children and families for over 20 years. My clients are learning to master such issues as overcoming depression; trauma recovery; anxiety reduction; managing existential and identity issues, reducing stress, controlling anger, estrangement from family; career changes; marital infidelity; and parenting challenges.
I strive to support, encourage, educate, and empower my clients. I encourage lots of feedback and I am very open to constructive criticism, because I want this process to be useful for you. More and more Florida children have two homes, alternating parental "timesharing" by spending time with each of their parents. Communication problems and disputes are common among the adults in such situations. This group will assist blended families in building the tools necessary to coparent as a team with dual households. Skills to be developed include: Communicating fairly, respectfully and with a professional tone; Effective negotiation; Preventing loyalty conflicts in children; Methods of navigating holidays; and Negotiating schedule changes. The content of this group can be modified for individual parents; coparenting counseling with both parents in attendance; and to include stepparents.
