Hello...my name is Tracy Burton, and I'm a licensed clinical social worker and therapist in DC & MD. In my thirty (30) years of experience I've had the privilege of working with children, teens, individuals, and families. My therapeutic approach is simple, in that, I believe in meeting people where they are (no judgement), and moving progressively forward.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in being client-centered with my clients. This allows the client to be somewhat in charge of their treatment, and aims to create a supportive environment. The goal is to help the client feel understood, accepted & valued, and allows the space for the client to explore their own solutions, along with the therapist.
Clients can expect an accepting, receptive & cheerful therapist who is interested in what's happening in their lives. Sometimes I get people who just want to talk about their day, but it doesn't matter the subject matter/issues, I want to be present at all times for my clients.
