Whether you are a teenager or an adult, existential moments present themselves. Sometimes it takes the help of someone compassionate, yet straightforward, who is outside of the problem to help you find solutions. There is not always a clear cut answer to life's complex problems, but together we can prioritize and sort them out in order to achieve our goals. I work with both adolescents and adults in areas such as: trauma, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.
I believe that the client is the expert in his or her own life, however, it is frustrating to go to a therapist who continually asks "how does that make you feel?" I care about how you feel, but more importantly, I want to know what you are doing about it. I believe that finding a solution is more important than focusing on the problem.
In addition to traditional therapy, I also offer psychological testing for those who are interested in psychometric evaluations of intelligence and personality. I also provide a number of screening instruments to discern a more global diagnostic picture. Therapy can be eye opening and exciting, but having a full psychological profile done is mind blowing!
