Hello, I'm Tracey Papas (she/her), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a master's degree in Social Work from Adelphi University in New York. My journey into social work began after the profound loss of my mother to cancer just before my 21st birthday. Initially, I aimed to become a bereavement counselor, but I soon realized that grief extends beyond the loss of loved ones. People experience grief through various life challenges such as serious medical diagnoses, disabilities, having a child with special needs, and navigating through divorce, among others.
I work with both adolescents and adults, but I hold a special place in my heart for adolescents facing depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and self-worth issues. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, utilizing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Attachment Therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.
I am here to listen, understand, and help you navigate through your challenges. Whether you're dealing with addiction, family relationships, gender identity issues, grief, life transitions, PTSD, intimate relationship concerns, or any other struggles, I am here to support you.
