I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Georgia providing both individual and group therapies. Trained in DBT, I use a validating model of treatment to help clients reach their goal of a life worth living. Some say that I have a good memory, and I've been told that I have a way of filing information that I hear in session for use later, although in the moment I may not know what that use will be.

I have been working with individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder and their families since 2012 after I was trained in this modality. Because DBT has been proven to be effective with other mental health issues, I have also been working with others other reach their mental health goals.

My history of practicing DBT with clients helps me to have a unique understanding of the importance of self-care, self-validation, mindfulness, and having practiced techniques for managing emotional crisis and difficult interpersonal situations. In addition to providing emotional support, I can support skillful management of challenging situations.

Tracey M Gagne's Groups

DBT Skills Maintenance Group

This group is an open group for individuals who know and understand DBT skills and how to use them. Unlike traditional DBT skills groups, this group is more of a process group as members seek advanced support in the use of DBT skills. Attendance in a DBT skills group for one module with our team is required before participation in this group will be recommended, unless referred by another DBT therapist who knows a potential member's skill acuity. Group members are required to have the most recent edition of Marsha Linehan's manual with them for each group session.

More about this group

DBT Skills Group

DBT Skills Group compliments individual therapy by teaching the four sets of DBT skills that clients are seeking to master-Mindfulness Practice, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Distress Tolerance. The group is set up in three ten-week modules focusing on two skills; each module starts with Mindfulness Practice training, and the last eight weeks focus on one of the other three skills. The group is open to new members during the first two weeks and then is closed until the next module begins. Participants agree to attend group module by module.
