Alcohol and Drug addiction produces such an intense activation of the reward system in the brain that normal activities may be neglected (DSM V). My focus is to discover the areas of an individuals life where coping became difficult and reasons why they turned to alcohol/drugs. Once we begin the process of healing, as personal growth and development is achieved, clients acquire new skills, a better understanding of oneself, they begin to experience a new happiness and freedom.
