About
Life can be overwhelming, and it’s not always easy reaching out to someone to ask for help. I get it, and I am here to help you find ways to cope. Hi, I’m Toshia, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Intern who loves helping people. I have over a decade of experience working in the social services and human development field, specifically working with women, adolescents, Hispanic youth/families, and LGBTQI+.
I specialize in post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), human trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC), sexual assault/abuse, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, and crisis intervention. I use many different approaches in my field of work CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, etc.
I have worked with all different types of clients from many different backgrounds. My approach to counseling is mostly client centered and solution focused therapies, done with compassion and empathy. My clients would describe me as calm, easy to talk to, compassionate, nonjudgmental, and a great listener.
