I'm so glad you found me! I specialize in couples therapy with an emphasis on conflict resolution, affair/betrayal recovery, and communication.
I also thoroughly enjoy helping adults who struggle with anxiety. Anxiety isn't just 'worry' or 'nervousness'. Anxiety is the smoke alarm that alerts when we aren't willing to process undesirable emotions. As I operate within concepts derived from the Bowen Family Systems theory, we get to create a safe space where your perspective has the opportunity to expand. When our perspectives are widened, we have the ability to be less dominated by uncomfortable emotions like sadness, anger, or fear.
I utilize a type of therapy called EMDR as a tool to help adults process past trauma. "Processing" in EMDR refers to the ability to decipher between an actual threat to one's emotional safety vs. a fictitious threat. When trauma isn't processed, false threats create responses that can often be paralyzing.
As a Christian, I'm honored to embrace faith within session upon request or when mentioned by client.
