Am I the right therapist for you? My clients are relatively high functioning, but feeling stuck or facing common challenges involving relationships, life transitions or existential issues of meaning/purpose. I work best with motivated clients who are ready to do the hard work that's necessary for lasting change. I've witnessed awe-inspiring change in clients, which is what continues to motivate me, and I have seen how my 60+ years of life experience and hard-earned wisdom have helped my clients. I'm passionate about my work and approach it with a high level of professionalism, but I also don't hesitate to inject a bit of humor.
As a Jungian psychotherapist with a law degree (don't let that scare you away; I had a brief career in law many years ago!), I have a rational, analytical mind that can help uncover the root causes and path forward from your struggles. I also am very intuitive and feeling-oriented and draw upon mindfulness, neurobiology, attachment theory, and spirituality.
Starting therapy takes courage and determination. Whether you’ve thought about it for weeks, months or years, now may be the time to begin. To get a better sense of whether I might be the right therapist for you, visit goreycounseling.com and, if you're still interested, drop me a line. "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." (Lao Tzu)
