All of us have within ourselves the ability to live happier lives. As you understand old patterns and learn positive ways of dealing with problems, you can learn to be in charge rather than allowing problems to control or overwhelm you. I have learned this in my own life after my wife became a paraplegic over 20 years ago.
As children, we learn "strategies" that help us survive in our environment but, as we grow older, these same "strategies" can usually interfere with our relationships. We also live in a challenging and fast-paced world, with technological changes that we are just beginning to understand and cope with.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and have found it to be life-changing to reprocess trauma. I use an eclectic approach: Attachment-based, Somatic, Energy Tapping, Cognitive & Dialectical Behavioral, Trauma-focused, Self-reparenting, and Biographical work.
My goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental environment to develop a plan that can bring positive changes into your live, and find strategies that can help you with challenges. Ultimately, counseling is about you helping yourself. With 30 years of experience, I'm here to help you realize your potential.
