A Peace of Mind Family Counseling (APMFC) is dedicated to providing comprehensive therapy services to individuals, children, teenagers, and families residing in Raleigh, N.C., and its neighboring areas. I am committed to supporting my clients through a wide range of challenges and have specialized expertise in addressing various concerns, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, childhood disorders, ADHD, autism, and more. It's an honor to me when a child chooses to trust me with their wishes, their fears, and their wonders about life. I have experience working with children individually, in hospitals, and through non-profit work in the community. Through the use of play and arts based therapies, I help to facilitate an environment where children are able to truly be themselves, express their emotions, and have the ability to create the answers they need for themselves.

I have worked with a very diverse population and like to start with what my clients identify as their needs. Though I'm active and make observations and give guidance, I will quickly make it known to you that I want your feedback even if it is different from mine. This includes my work with adolescents and children as i know they are often reluctant with therapy yet want to be heard and this is how i join with them. I am the owner of Bowman Family Services, and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Supervisor with over 26 years of experience working with children, adults, and families. My carefully selected team of child, adolescent, adult, couples and family therapists, and psychologists utilize play, art and yoga therapy, sound therapy, mindfulness, EMDR, CBT, trauma-focused CBT, DBT, Pre-Marital and psychological testing. Candice has experience and a passion for working with children and their families to heal from trauma and build secure attachment patterns. She understands that each person's unique experiences play an influence in current functioning. With experience in various roles from therapist, prevention specialist, and program director I enjoy helping young children, teenagers, and adults achieve balance in everyday living. Arianna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from North Carolina State University. She has worked with children, teens, and their families in community-based settings, specializing in underserved and high-risk populations. Arianna utilizes a strengths-based approach with a systems lens to work with children as young as 4 years old, teenagers, and young adults. She works with individuals on emotional regulation, anger management, anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder, ADD/ADHD, ODD, parenting skills, and more!

My name is Lauren Alvarez and I earned my Masters in Counselor Education with a focus in Clinical Mental Health at ECU; finishing in December of 2013. In early March of 2017, I became a fully Licensed Professional Counselor after about 3 years in the counseling field. I have worked in various settings from hospitals, child advocacy centers, domestic violence agencies and shelters, to agencies in community mental health with positions as an Advocate, Case Manager, Intensive In-Home Team Lead, Assessor, and Outpatient Therapist for the Spanish and English speaking populations.
