You have decided that something in your life needs to change: perhaps chronic stress or emotional pain, confusing behaviors or needs in your child, or your way of dealing with ongoing family issues. Therapy is a collaborative process in which I facilitate these changes. I have significant experience with issues around giftedness and its social-emotional challenges, anxiety, trauma, attachment, and adoption. I treat all clients with respect, interest, and openness. I am a relaxed, approachable person who feels privileged to work at a job I love with children and adults who teach and inspire me with their courage.
Change comes through doing as well as talking, so therapy will include opportunities to practice new skills, such as managing trauma-related symptoms or improving parent-child communication. I want you to leave therapy feeling confident and strong in what you have accomplished.
I welcome clients of all ethnic backgrounds and sexual orientations. My areas of special interest are attachment and adoption issues; social-emotional challenges of giftedness; LGBT / questioning youth, and the adult legacy of difficult childhoods. As of May 1, 2015, I will not be accepting new clients until further notice.
