The Midwest Asian Health Association's Community Mental Health Clinic (CMHC) was established in 2015 with the vision to provide linguistically appropriate, culturally sensitive, and financially affordable mental health services to underserved Asian American & Pacific Islander, Asian immigrants, and other low-income minority populations in the Midwest. The counselors and staff at the CMHC are dedicated to creating community in which all people, regardless of language or ability to pay, will be able to access mental health services to improve their mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

Hello, and thanks for visiting! My name is Jennifer Galle MA, LCPC, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. As a clinician, I pride myself on taking both an eclectic and holistic approach to treatment, and work collaboratively with my clients to identify their therapeutic goals, and then we develop a plan to achieve them together. My therapeutic methods focus on tackling the most problematic emotions and behaviors quickly to provide the most immediate results possible. Overall, I view myself as a knowledgeable guide and source of support along this journey, and recognize that my clients are the focus.

Ms. Mannix's clinical practice focuses on providing cognitive behavioral therapy to children, adolescents & adults. Ms. Mannix also provides family therapy to clients of all ages. She has worked extensively with children, adolescents and adults who have Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Behavioral Problems & ADHD, Bipolar disorder, Autism, Divorce, Grief and loss, family conflicts, learning difficulties, school concerns. Ms. Mannix focuses on post traumatic stress, relational/behavioral problems in children, school difficulties, adolescences and adults as well. Ms. Mannix is also a strong advocate for persons with disabilities.

Dr. McGrath is an experienced clinician with over a decade of successfully working with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of concerns. Her clinical experience is expansive. She has led social skills groups for pre-adolescent and adolescent boys and girls; conducted ADHD assessments and psychological evaluations; administered intelligence screenings for gifted children, and has led grief and bereavement groups for adolescents in private and public schools. In addition, she has taught undergraduate courses at Wheaton College.

Applying theoretical application into practice varies from person to person as I assess, analyze, and evaluate the “self” through one on one counseling, therapy, observation, active listening, communication, surveys, and much more through clinical intervention and exploration. My main focus is YOU within a deep, empathic, and respectful atmosphere TOGETHER we can discover who the “SELF” truly is. Displaying a welcoming non- judgmental environment while setting the primary goal to establish a therapeutic alliance through confidentiality, empathic understanding, unconditional positive regard, respect, and dignity.

Emotions are normal! The difference between feeling anxious or depressed lies in our interpretation of these emotions. I work with children, adolescents and adults for individual or couples counseling. I enjoy working with young people by helping them to understand emotions and what they mean. There are several therapeutic modalities I use including art therapy as a way to connect feelings to behaviors and sports metaphors for visualizing change. Through this process my clients increase self-control and self-esteem. My goal is to reveal the strengths individuals posses even if the current life situation may feel overwhelming.

This a group practice that employs clinicans of various ethnicities and backgrounds. People come to therapy due to feeling excessive stress at work, at home, or in their relationships. They find the pressures of everyday life have exceeded their abilities, overwhelmed their senses, and left them with an inability to cope. They are often having problems with school, completing tasks, getting along with others at work, and finding activities enjoyable. We believe in the resiliency of the human spirit, and that therapy is a process of exploring and getting to know oneself.
