My ideal client would be ages 3-18 seeking assistance with adjustment issues, grief, anxiety, depression, peer conflict, parent/child conflict, stress, behavioral issues, self-esteem, and sports performance issues. I would desire to work with the client and their parent(s) to teach healthy coping and communication skills to reduce negative symptoms/behaviors causing tension at home and school.

I believe insight and gained knowledge of self, plus learning skills can enable a person to live life to his/her potential. I help clients of all ages gain new perspectives, identify negative thinking patterns, develop a healthy expression of feelings. and problem solve.

I have been in practice for over 25 years and am licensed in Florida and in Michigan. I have a person-centered approach to Therapy and have experience in Trauma, Depression/Anxiety, Marriage Counseling, and Christian Counseling. Throughout my career, I have specialized in Children and Families, Couples, and active duty Military. I have 3 biological children of my own, 2 border collies, and have been an active foster parent for over 10 years.

I have extensive experience with mood disorders, trauma and addictions and work with all ages. I am trained in EMDR and use that technique with both children and adults if appropriate. I am able to assist my clients in seeing patterns in their life story and work to identify and change core beliefs such as "I'm not good enough", "I'm defective" or "I cannot trust others."

I work with children, teens, and families to support them as a family and strengthen their connections with each other. I see children and teens for individual counseling, group counseling, and also provide family counseling. Growing up is hard and so is parenting! We all have times when we could use extra support. I specialize in blended families and co-parenting support for all types of families.
