My specialities as a therapist are 1) children, adolescents, & their families and 2) student athletes. Many individuals within this population suffer with mood disorders, anxiety, school & sport performance stress, identity crisis, family conflict, and low self-esteem due to familial/societal expectations and competitive culture. As a child, teenager, or parent, managing all these life stressors can take a toll on our mental health. My hope as a therapist is to make clients feel safe to process these struggles, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and improve their social/ family connections around them.

I am a Somatic Psychotherapist from Japan. I have worked for Simple Trauma / PTSD and Complex Trauma / Complex PTSD. I will work through the trauma behind your current problems, depression, panic, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and so on, by reading the signs and noticing the unspoken voice and exploring the unknown self with your curiosity. You become aware of yourself that you have not been aware of before. I am here to support you.

Seeking out therapy and finding the right therapist can feel daunting, frustrating, and extremely vulnerable. Knowing this, I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental, and collaborative relationship with my clients. I want my clients to know they are not alone in their struggles. I not only understand and validate but also help empower them to create both emotional and behavioral changes that will lead to a happier and more fulfilling life. My goal is to have my client become more self-aware, identify and implement their strengths, and have tools they can apply outside of the therapy room.

My goal is to foster a human-centered space where children, teens and young adults feel like they can be authentically seen, heard and free to express themselves. I understand how intimidating it can sometimes feel to sit across from a therapist and feel like you’re under a microscope. As an imperfect human who has experienced my own struggles, I hope to bring compassion, realness and understanding to those I work with. Through creativity and play, I hope to help children find ways to process difficult emotions through means that make sense to them. Growth is possible when we find healthier ways to address life's obstacles.

I specialize in working with parents, children, and teens on a variety of presenting issues ranging from anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, crisis management and general relational issues. I prescribe to the belief that in most cases involving children, therapy should be brief and time limited. I have provided counseling services in various settings including local schools, a community mental health center, and now in my private practice. I work from a family systems and humanistic lens to meet the individual needs of my clients. I also utilize evidence-based treatments such as CBT.

Is it a challenge to understand your childs confusing behavior sometimes?, Do you have a child with a lot of big feelings? I work with kids ages 3+and their families. My approach is playful, reflective, authentic and collaborative. I use interpersonal neurobiology to guide me as I customize my approach based on my clients needs. I have completed advanced training in Perinatal Mental Health so I can support caregivers on their parenting journeys. I I am currently in the 2024 cohort of “being with“, a year long immersive training program led by Robyn Gobbel.
