My ideal client is someone (young adult/adult) who has a vested interest in their own well-being and that of their family if that applies. I have a long history of working with young adults and adults who have not had the understanding of what counseling/therapy is all about. I provide the opportunity, in a safe telehealth environment, for them to have that experience. I am client-centered, in other words, with a focus on what clients bring. My work is to support them in their personal journey to healthy mental health.
I can support my clients with honesty, best practices in the different modalities that are culturally sensitive and relevant to their experiences. I use the clinical time to be an excellent listener and summarize what I heard them say. This helps both myself and the client be on the same understanding of what the issues/concerns of counseling/therapy are.
