I believe therapy is most effective when approached from a holistic perspective. As such, my background and training have been geared towards treating mind, body and soul. While I use a variety of clinical approaches, I view relationship as the most important therapeutic tool. To that end, my counseling philosophy incorporates elements of person-centered theory, as I view the traits of empathy, unconditional positive regard and non-judgment to be instrumental to the therapeutic relationship. I also embrace a cognitive behavioral framework as I believe strongly in the connection between thoughts, emotional experiences and behaviors.
As a counselor, I am here to support you in the areas you have identified as most important to your life. I have worked with clients from all walks of life and believe that I can find common ground with anyone, however through my life experiences I have had extensive engagement with underrepresented communities, faith-based communities and athletes.
Regardless of our race, gender, faith, identity or orientation, we are all bound together by the common thread of our humanity. We've all experienced want, need, loss and hurt.
