Our work together will begin by addressing the areas that are most affecting your ability to function—whether it's navigating grief, managing a life transition, or feeling unsure of how to move forward.
While I may not yet know what brought you to my page, I do know that many people seek therapy when life begins to feel overwhelming, when they feel stuck, or when familiar patterns no longer serve them. This might show up as anxiety, depression, difficulty managing daily responsibilities, or a persistent sense of being in "survival mode." It may come from a desire to heal past wounds, better understand yourself, or shift long-held habits. Perhaps you're seeking more meaningful relationships, deeper self-awareness, or a greater sense of fulfillment. Whatever your reason, therapy offers a space to process, heal, and grow.

It would be an honor to assist you with gaining insight into life’s challenges, as well as overcoming feelings of low self-esteem, loss of security, and finding vitality and value in life.
“We are all born same, we are completely cute, innocent, sweet, and we need that reflection of ourselves as little human beings to live, …” – Anneke Lucas. Hello, I’m Bill, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It seems that life can sometimes take a bit of the cuteness, innocence, and sweetness away. It is important to remember that our need for belonging and attachment continues throughout life and is not outgrown. If anything, the need may grow to seemingly greater levels. When our needs are not met, the response may be one of experiencing emptiness in life and low self-esteem.

Hi, I’m Kelsie. I’m a licensed clinical social worker and somatic therapist with over a decade of experience sitting with people through the complexities of life. My approach is grounded in presence, body awareness, and the belief that healing happens in relationship—with ourselves, each other, and the systems we live in. I draw from somatic practices, narrative therapy, and mindfulness to help clients reconnect with their own wisdom, process what’s been stored in the body, and move toward more ease and authenticity. In our first session, you can expect a welcoming, low-pressure space to begin wherever you are.

I am trained to provide relief on a wide variety of problems, including, but not limited to anger & communication difficulties, grief & loss, history of trauma, adult recovery from child abuse, divorce, change of life issues, relationship conflict and men's & women's issues.
Depression, stress and anxiety do not occur in a vacuum. They occur within a larger context of genetics, relationships, and unexpected life events and our interpretations of these events. If we interpret events accurately, or at least neutrally, our resulting moods and feeling will be accurate, producing appropriate and life-enhancing behavior.

My specialties include trauma, PTSD, grief, sexual identity/exploration, religious trauma/deconstruction, and supporting those who care for loved ones with visible and invisible disabilities.
I love working with clients who are curious to see what life looks like on the other side of "stuck." Trauma, depression, anxiety, and so many other things that bring us to therapy, often feel so overwhelming and insurmountable, we don't know what to do or where to start. If you're feeling "stuck," you're not alone. I’ve found that the parts of ourselves we most want to keep hidden are the parts that need to be seen and loved before we can begin to heal. You can do the messy and hard work of giving yourself permission to be seen and loved.

If you identify with any of these struggles we may be a good fit: You're feeling unsure or unsupported while experiencing grief and loss of all kinds.
I enjoy helping motivated adults experiencing grief/ loss, feeling lost, lonely, misunderstood or feeling they need to hide their true self to live a more present, fuller life. I believe fully experiencing life can occur when we are seen and known in a therapeutic relationship, and are becoming more aware of how to connect to our whole mind, body and spirit.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
