You might look like you’re functioning on the outside, but internally, you’re overwhelmed, anxious, and exhausted.
I help overwhelmed and high-functioning individuals understand how their brain actually works, so things finally start to make sense. From there, we focus on real, practical change, where we start building structure, setting boundaries, and creating systems that actually work in your daily life. My style is direct, honest, and supportive.

The individuals and couples who come to see me are struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship conflicts, behavioral issues, or the need for personal growth and development.
My first focus is to develop a trusting relationship with my client which I believe is the basis for change. I then partner with my client to help them identify their specific goals for coming to therapy, and assist them in achieving those goals.

Reaching out for help can be difficult but is very courageous. The truth is that we are all human and there comes a time in everyone's life where we need help. Maybe we just need a non-judgmental, open minded, trustworthy person that we can sit down and talk to. Someone that can really listen and help to sort out our feelings and our situation. Someone who can help to make better sense of what is going on and maybe even help to come up with a plan for changing it.

My clients are often working around the demands of leadership, career stress, faith-related concerns, and the emotional weight of caring for others. They are carrying stress from wearing multiple hats. Many are men seeking support with relationships, life transitions, purpose, identity, or the challenge of emotions. In our work together, we will examine both internal patterns and external circumstances to help clients find balance, build resilience, and create meaningful change.

These methods can ease the effects of trauma, such as anxiety, fear, or struggles in relationships, and open the way to healing and lasting change.
I chose to become a counselor because I believe that while there is so much pain in the world, there are not always enough effective resources for healing. I have witnessed many people, weighed down by hurt and anger, who genuinely desire change but feel so stuck they don’t know where to begin. On my own journey to becoming a counselor, I’ve learned that hope can sometimes feel difficult to hold onto and change can feel overwhelming — yet when hope is rediscovered, it becomes a powerful source of strength. As change begins, the feeling of being stuck starts to loosen, and true.

When anxiety, stress, perfectionism, or life circumstances leave you feeling stuck, therapy can help you slow down, gain clarity, and move forward with intention.
You may be the woman who appears capable and put-together on the outside, while privately feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or unsure how to keep carrying everything on your plate. I especially enjoy working with women navigating life transitions—from emerging adulthood and career development to motherhood, postpartum adjustment, relationship challenges, and discovering who they are and what matters most to them. Many of my clients are high-achieving, caring individuals who spend so much time meeting the needs of others that they lose sight of their own.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
