Over the years, I’ve worked with clients of all ages—from kids to older adults—helping them navigate anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and PTSD.
Starting counseling can feel a little intimidating—maybe even overwhelming. My goal is to create a calm, welcoming space where you feel safe, supported, and truly seen. I believe everyone can benefit from counseling at some point in life, and I’m honored to walk alongside you as we navigate life’s challenges together. Counseling isn’t just a career for me—it’s a calling. I’m deeply grateful to do work I love. I’m also excited to share that I offer supervision for those pursuing LPC-MHSP licensure in Tennessee.

Some of the concerns I've worked with are anxiety, bipolar, depression, grief, substance abuse, mood disorders, co-occurring, trauma, and severe and persistent mental illnesses.
I'm passionate about helping others become their best selves. At times one can feel weighed down by either their past or current situation. I love seeing others overcome life’s challenges to live life full. I'd love to help you too. I'd meet you where you are; then guide you, at your pace, to where you want to be.

For myself and many others, 2024 was a particularly difficult year. The ‘road’ back can be frustrating and even painful, yet the rewards can be positive and life-changing.
I am happy to announce I am once again accepting new clients for 2025. I hold an MA in Educational Psychology with Mental Health Counseling, and am licensed as an LPC, MHSP. I am also an ACS for those taking a path toward LPC, MHSP. There are many different therapies; however, I believe CBT, DBT, person-centered, and compassion-focused therapies are particularly helpful, especially for those struggling with grief, trauma, behavioral, and long-unaddressed issues.

I enjoy working with both children and adults coping with anxiety, depression, and trauma backgrounds.
In session, I offer a supportive and judgment-free space where we can untangle what’s going on underneath the surface. My approach blends warmth and curiosity (humanistic) with practical tools (like CBT and solution-focused techniques) to help you build self-awareness, develop coping strategies, and reconnect with who you really are.

If you are stuck and ready to change your feelings, thoughts or behaviors, it is likely you have one of two things happening that EMDR or Rapid Resolution therapy with Clinical Hypnosis can help. A second is, you could be upset and reacting "as if" something you suspect could happen.

You fear mistakes, judgement, and abandonment – even with those that you are closest to.
Are you curious to learn about and understand these patterns that continue to drive you? Would you like to be an active participant in your life rather than a bystander wondering, “what just happened” or “who was that person”?

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
