I believe we are created for relationships, which is why having healthy relational dynamics among family, friends, coworkers, or other individuals is crucial to our well being. There are many obstacles we face in our daily lives. Some situations we can easily navigate, while others can be more challenging and cause us to question ourselves and our ability to persevere and overcome. Life is hard and we are not meant to do it alone. It is important to know that you are not alone in your situation and that there IS help and support for you.

Tired of repeating painful patterns, the same arguments, emotional distance, or the ache of feeling unseen or misunderstood no matter how hard you try? Anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, broken trust, or chronic stress can leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and disconnected.
This is not advice driven therapy or surface level coping. We focus on what is driving your patterns beneath the surface so change can happen at the root, not just managing symptoms. Together, we slow things down and explore what is happening in the moment, helping you feel more grounded, clear, and connected within yourself and your relationships.

Does your child struggle with expressing his or her emotions, experience meltdowns, aggression, and changes in mood? Do you notice difficulties with regulating emotions and/or energy level? Perhaps you are getting phone calls from your child's school due to behavioral difficulties and disruptions. Or maybe you are noticing behavior challenges and power struggles at home or concerned about how screen-time is affecting your child. As a parent, it can be difficult and confusing as to how to best get help for your child. You want to see your child thriving with the necessary support and coping skills to make that happen.

As a recent graduate, I am coming into therapy with experience of 5 years working with individuals that struggle with addiction, mental health concerns, life transitions, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, and relationship difficulties. Sometimes , a person simply wants to understand why they feel the way they do, and learn how to feel safer in their body, relationships, and daily life while building a stronger sense of identity and direction. Healing is not linear, sometimes even painful but it can happen in a safe environment and with the right support.

Being a human is hard. Things happen that leave us feeling lost and uncertain of what to do with it all. On top of that, we hold a lot of what happens to us in the body, creating a struggle between what we feel and what we know, and wreaking havoc on our ability to function in the here and now. I am passionate about exploring this struggle through the creative arts, somatic work, and talk therapy. Words aren’t always enough, and using a blend of these three approaches opens up a deeper well from within our spirits. From that well, new life springs forth and we connect with our most authentic self.

After experiencing my own trials in life, I learned just how beneficial counseling can be to supporting us through life’s difficulties. It is my goal to provide that healthy support to others who are walking hard paths. For me, the therapeutic relationship involves a mutual learning from one another, as well as addressing a person’s needs from all arenas, including emotional, physical, and spiritual. An understanding of attachment helps me encourage clients to find clarity in their lives and healthier relationships with self and others. I am grateful for the honor of being a safe space for clients.

Attachment-based Therapists
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.
What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.
How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.
Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
