What an honor it is to share space with folks who want to enjoy their lives to the fullest! I'm here to help you improve relationships, regulate emotions, overcome past hurts, and plan for living your best life. I'll work with you to move past barriers so that you can achieve your goals. I am passionate about empowering you to be the greatest version of yourself. If you measure yourself as a "human doing" instead of a "human being”, if you have difficulty setting boundaries with friends and family, if you find yourself repeating the same patterns that are no longer serving you, I'd love to talk with you.

I help clients work towards healing, growth, and empowerment through expressive arts, narrative, attachment-based, and experiential and emotions-focused therapies.
I work with adults and children who may experience the world differently, often due to factors such as autism, ADHD, identity, trauma, stage of life, mental health issues, or chronic illness. While I am an intern therapist with a lot to learn, I'm firm in my belief that everyone deserves and desires the chance to be seen, understood, and accepted, as part of their healing and growth. For many clients learning to reconnect with themselves, creativity, understanding, and empowerment may lend to self-awareness and grounding, positively impacting not only one's relationship with self, but with others.

I use a trauma-informed, attachment-based approach that may include IFS, Brainspotting, CBT, and the Townsend Model.
Do you ever feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in familiar patterns—knowing something isn’t working, but not quite sure how to change it? Much of my work is about helping individuals slow down, make sense of what’s happening inside, and reconnect with themselves. My goal is to help you understand yourself on a deeper level—not just manage symptoms, but explore why certain patterns exist and how past experiences continue to shape the present.

As a play therapist, I believe growth and healing happen through play and connection. My main goal is for every child to feel safe, valued, seen, and heard within the therapeutic relationship. With this foundation, I walk alongside each child on their journey of self-discovery, using the language of play to identify and express emotions, process experiences, learn coping skills, and build upon their strengths. I work closely with parents/caregivers, recognizing their expertise in their child’s life, creating a safe and nurturing environment for clients to explore their emotions and grow.

You've built a life that looks successful from the outside. The career. The reputation. The achievements. But underneath all of it, something isn't working. And it's been that way for a long time. Maybe it's the anxiety that never fully stops. The patterns you keep repeating no matter how hard you try. The exhaustion of performing a version of yourself that was built to survive, not to live. You've tried to out-work it, out-think it, out-achieve it. Yet, you're still here. It's not that there's something inherently wrong with you. It's a wound asking to be seen and healed.

Maya Angelou once said, “We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” Changes, challenges and struggles are complex and take us out of our comfort zone. Too often we find it difficult to slow down, learn from and appreciate the journey of healing. My goal is for clients to help address those challenges, complexities and struggles whether it involves concerns with attachment, behavior regulation, family dynamics, infertility, parenting, racial identity or trauma as well as understand the meaning behind the behavior.

I have worked over 15 years with individuals in outpatient and inpatient settings. I am currently in private practice in Franklin, TN where I continue my focus primarily on treating individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (formerly known as Asperger's Syndrome). I guide clients in learning self-regulation skills, self-awareness to become more socially integrated, improve social communication and begin to think and behave in more flexible, less rigid manner. I seek to help individuals with ASD learn more about themselves and appreciate their unique strengths as they tackle their "challenges" with humor and a sense of hopefulness.

Thoreau said "There are a thousand hacking at the branches to every one striking at the root." In therapy, I believe our most valuable work is striking at the root of issues rather than hacking merely at the many branches/symptoms of the root. This latter approach often leads to resolving one manifestation of a problem only to experience new manifestations down the road. Whether the symptoms are anxiety, depression, addictions, or maladaptive relationships, it is worthwhile to examine the deeper sources of our pain. One of my primary roles will be to provide a steadfast ground of compassion, patience, and truth for your work.

Attachment-based Therapists
Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?
Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?
Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?
Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?
Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
