Does it feel like you and your partner are more like roommates than a couple? Maybe the spark is gone, conversations feel surface-level, or you're stuck in the same arguments on repeat. Maybe you barely talk anymore, or it’s all about schedules, kids, & chores. You miss the connection you used to have but aren’t sure how to get back there. You’re not alone. Many couples face challenges like miscommunication, frequent arguments, or feeling disconnected. Pressures of daily life can leave you feeling stuck, frustrated, & unsure how to move forward. I help couples rebuild emotional closeness, improve communication, & find their way back

Specializing in supporting individuals, couples, teens and families, I focus on trauma, relationship issues, marital conflict, communication skills, addiction, grief, adjustment disorder, parenting, anxiety/depression, and school-related concerns. I offer a unique blend of empathy, expertise, and evidence-based techniques to help you get back to feeling yourself. I taught high school science for 15 years before moving into counseling, so I have a unique understanding of how teens operate, how family dynamics change, and how chaotic life can feel at times. I'm here to get you where you want to be.

I believe that healing is always possible—no matter where you begin. Change doesn’t happen all at once; it unfolds softly, in moments of awareness and courage. In my work, I offer individual therapy and trauma-informed care for teen girls, college-aged women, and adult women and men. My first priority is creating a space where you can breathe—where honesty feels safe, and your emotions have room to be seen and understood.

Do you struggle with feeling disconnected from yourself and others? Do you find it difficult to say "no" or set boundaries with others? Do you wonder if life should feel more manageable? More joyful? Maybe you can't quite put your finger on it, but you know something is "off". Today, more than ever before, people are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and uncertain about their life and relationships. Pushing away your emotional pain can lead to long-term issues for you mind and body. It doesn't have to be this way.

In my personal and professional life, I have found one thing to be true: Life can be hard. I have a passion for supporting others in resolving pain and reclaiming fullness in life. While pain is an inevitable part of the human experience, suffering is optional. I am dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families heal from relational and other traumas, problematic sexual behaviors, destructive compulsive and addictive patterns, and intimacy disorders. I see brokenhearted adults and children as they learn to cope with an unstable world. My heart is to heal the broken hearted and give hope where hope was once lost.

Accepting new clients. After experiencing my own trials in life, I learned just how beneficial counseling can be to supporting us through life’s difficulties. It is my goal to provide that healthy support to others who are walking hard paths. For me, the therapeutic relationship involves a mutual learning from one another, as well as addressing a person’s needs from all arenas, including emotional, physical, and spiritual. An understanding of attachment helps me encourage clients to find clarity in their lives and healthier relationships with self and others. I am grateful for the honor of being a safe space for clients.

I help young adults in their 20s and 30s navigate life transitions, grief, anxiety, and the effects of past trauma through a faith-based, trauma-informed lens. I guide them to use these transitions as opportunities for self-discovery, helping them grow into the person God created them to be while cultivating self-worth, empowerment, and a compassionate understanding of their story. I also help clients gain awareness of how they may be contributing to their own suffering and identify areas of personal responsibility—so they can make meaningful changes, even when they aren’t sure where to start.

Christian Therapists

Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?

Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same belief system or background to be able to work effectively together, but a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond with individuals from a range of backgrounds, as they will have experience in tailoring their approach to each client—and will be prepared to acknowledge and consider the effects of culture, religion, and other factors on each individual.

Why is it important to find a therapist sensitive to Christian values?

Each person brings a unique history and background to therapy, making it important to find a licensed therapist who is trained in a broad range of treatment modalities. In addition, for people who grow up in a faith tradition that strongly influences the way they conduct their everyday life, finding a therapist who understands or shares that background can ease the disclosure of sensitive information and facilitate the therapeutic process. For some clients, a Christian therapist is likely to incorporate faith-based principles into emotional healing techniques.

How do I recognize an effective Christian therapist?

Christian therapists are licensed mental health professionals—holding a master’s or doctoral degree in medicine, nursing, psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy—who are also familiar with Christian beliefs and values. They have an understanding of the importance that Christian principles play in the lives of individuals and families, which allows them to be especially sensitive to the kinds of struggles that can affect daily functioning. Like all effective therapists, a Christian therapist will have undergone training and certification in a variety of treatment modalities that help people through crises and enable them to master the challenges of life.

Why might someone feel comfortable with a Christian therapist?

While training, qualifications, and experience are always important, research has long established that a strong alliance between client and therapist is a major contributor to therapeutic success. An alliance is likely to be strengthened with a therapist who not only is responsive to questions and concerns but also shares a client’s faith and values. Sensitivity to spiritual matters as well as to everyday struggles can provide a welcome sense of safety and contribute to the bond between client and therapist, both of which support the therapeutic process.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Christian therapists?

The directory of Christian therapists includes professionals who have shared their background in their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose this information, and they may not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with Christian clients, regardless of their own background or religious affiliation.
