Accepting New Clients. Do you feel like you're treading water, barely keeping your head above? Are you having a difficult time being present? "Listen, are you breathing just a little, and calling it a life?" -Mary Oliver
I provide counseling services to those in need of Hope, Help, and Healing. Suffering from Behavioral Management, Depression, PTSD, Adult and Child ADHD, Domestic Violence, Suicidal Ideation, Low Self-Esteem, and many other issues which affect your Mental Health; reach out! There is hope! I can help you!
Life can feel overwhelming when you do not enjoy being with yourself. Sometimes thoughts, feelings, or relationships can be all-consuming, which leads us to feel like we have lost all control. Yet, attempts to control the thought, emotion, relationship, or our physical bodies often lead to behaviors later regretted. You may know that something needs to change but struggle to know how to change it.
Are you struggling with worry or fear that easily spirals out of control, at times to the point of panic? Are you noticing a negative impact on your work/school or your relationships (including with yourself!)? I specialize in helping smart, caring women who struggle with anxiety learn to find greater balance and ease. The women who work with me are the kind, responsible types who tend to their loved ones and to work/school, but who overlook themselves. By the time they get in touch with me, they feel exhausted, stressed out, guilty, and ashamed. They tend to overthink everything and feel easily overwhelmed by their emotions.
I work with individuals and couples using CBT, interpersonal psychodynamic therapy, and EMDR among other techniques. Interests include trauma, anxiety, relationships issues, family of origin issues, and how coping strategies to manage past situations may be tripping us up currently. I am skillful at helping clients find new solutions when they hit impasses. I strive to provide a collaborative, healing relationship where clients can unlearn, relearn, or learn anew as appropriate to be able to experience their full range of emotions and live without too much of their energy being tied up in the past. Humor is often useful in our journey.
Licensed Professional Counselor, MFA, MA, R-DMT, LPCMHSP
I provide individualized support tailored to my clients' unique stories. I use expressive arts therapy and dance/movement therapy techniques in addition to client-centered talk therapy to engage with clients as we process in both the verbal and non-verbal realms. The body and mind are interconnected and the body can be used as a map guiding explorations of the self, as well as a metaphor to express emotions which can be difficult to convey in words alone. Through a therapeutic relationship, I provide empathic support and playful intervention.
For most of your life, you’ve done what you were "supposed" to do & followed a path that others have laid for you—all for the sake of fitting in & maintaining relationships. But despite your best efforts, it feels like you're living a life not entirely your own—you’re feeling stuck in a lack of purpose, low self-confidence & overpowered by your inner critic. You've disconnected from your authentic self & know you aren't living a life in alignment with your soul’s desires. The solution? (And yes, there is one) is to move toward a life of integrity—where your inner desires are a match to how you’re moving through the world.

The Know You Project is a career consulting service aimed at helping people discover more about who they are, how they're wired, their strength/passion areas, and what career path might be best suited for them. We work with clients in high school considering what do to once they graduate, young adults who aren't enjoying their current position, established professionals looking to make a change, as well as those looking to get back into the workforce after time away for any reason (ex. mothers returning to work). We offer both clarity on vision, as well as personalized job-hunt tools that make clients stand out during the search
My desire is to create safe, supportive space to help you feel comfortable and fully supported in the work that you would like to do. I enjoy assisting with transitions through all kinds of life circumstances - grief and loss, relationship issues, career changes and soul questions or crises, to name a few. I welcome working with you to help you release what is not working in your life and to help you make room for the "new" -- for transformation, deep peace and, most of all, for joy.
Often times when we feel stuck in our lives, it is because we are noticing a conflict in our internal world. Part of us feels one way, while another part feels very differently. It is my experience that we all enter this world with the capacity to feel grounded and at peace, yet as we experience the hardships of life, we lose connection with that inner safety. Instead we begin to experience the burdens of shame, grief and/or loneliness; and parts of us take on roles that may show up as anxiety, perfectionism, sadness, self-criticism, dissociation - or any other symptom, thought, or emotion that you find yourself struggling with.
Making the choice to see a therapist is the first and often the scariest step on the journey to emotional wellness. It is also a rewarding one because eventually it can lead you to your goal of a more balanced and fulfilling life. I would like to help you achieve your goals by offering a safe, supportive and confidential environment where you can develop these tools and techniques to navigate your life’s most difficult times.
I believe each person has the intrinsic wisdom they need to move through the world successfully. Sometimes the behaviors and beliefs that we learn along the way to survive and cope separate us a bit from that wisdom. Therapy should be a safe place to explore and address barriers in a non-judgmental, compassionate environment. I care about helping adults move through trauma and reconnect with their authentic selves in order to build a life worth living.
I believe there is true strength in facing the hard stuff life throws at us, and that vulnerability often leads to relief and development. It is never too late, or too early, to start processing how your experiences have impacted you.
Raising children can be challenging. Anxiety, depression, family changes and self esteem challenges all impact your child’s mindset and behaviors. Allow me to help create a safe environment where they can learn about themselves and grow in a positive direction.
My ideal client is an adolescent or young adult who is struggling and needs a safe space where they can be heard and explore their own identity, thoughts, and feelings. The clients can be searching for someone who will accept them unconditionally and be able to hold space for them, and I would love to be that person for you.
My passion is working with couples that feel stuck and pulled into destructive communication patterns in their relationship. I help couples heal from deep hurts and move towards intimate connection using Emotionally Focused Therapy, which is backed by research and a highly effective model for helping couples rebuild intimacy.
Deciding to begin counseling is a brave decision that should be applauded. I welcome you and hope I am able to walk along beside you and your child on this new journey. I am interested in working with children, adolescents, and their families with issues related to trauma, behavioral difficulties, depression, suicidal ideation, self-harm, and anxiety.
