As a certified EMDR and complex trauma therapist, I help adults, couples, and adolescents address the core of their issues to resolve high-stress symptoms including anger, insomnia, depression, anxiety, grief, intrusive memories, substance misuse, suicidal thoughts, and relationship distress.
Is stress, burnout, anxiety, anger, depression, or substance misuse impacting your daily life and affecting your relationships? Therapy should be a proactive process that empowers you to experience results instead of just talking about it over and over again. I specialize in helping you take back control by addressing high-performance stress & environments, burnout, and traumatic events that disrupt your life. Many of my clients lead during emergencies and never thought that they’d be looking for help themselves including military service members, veterans, first responders, medical professionals, and their family members.

If you’re living with ADHD, autism, trauma, OCD, sleep issues, or a brain that just never seems to turn off, you aren’t alone.
I specialize in neurodivergence and have a deep understanding of how co-occurring conditions like OCD and trauma can add stress and anxiety to your days - while disruptive nighttime routines and racing thoughts contribute to insomnia and sleep difficulties. Together, these dynamics create negative patterns that can leave you feeling stuck and unhappy.

A psychologist might help a client with 1) depression, anxiety, anger, or insomnia 2) a chronic medical/physical condition negatively impacting functioning, or 3) managing acute stress/adjustment related to divorce, retirement, or the death of a loved one.
My approach is one of brief, evidence-based treatment, from a cognitive behavioral framework. I work with individual, adult clients and my availability includes evenings and weekends. I no longer have an office for in-person visits, so I offer only telehealth visits. The rate is $140

Living with a chronic illness can affect every part of life—your relationships, your work, your sense of self, and even your hope for the future. I understand how overwhelming it can feel, not only because of my professional training but also through my own lived experience with chronic illness. This dual perspective allows me to bring both clinical expertise and authentic empathy into our work together.

My services include individual, family, and couples/marital therapy. I primarily work with adults and couples. You may feel stuck—caught in the same relationship patterns, overwhelmed by parenting demands, or living with constant anxiety that leaves you unsure where to begin. A part of you knows something needs to change, even if the path forward isn’t clear yet. You want clarity, confidence, and tools that actually work in real life. Therapy becomes the turning point where you move from feeling reactive and drained to feeling more empowered, intentional, and grounded in your choices.

I have a passion to help all, but especially those struggling with behavioral issues and trauma. I understands the importance of getting ahead of behavioral issues in children and adolescents before they face legal consequences. I understand the importance of counseling following trauma. I could go on and on about the research backing the need for counseling in trauma. Behavioral issues are often rooted with some sort of trauma. I love helping others find their confidence, safety and mental health baseline. I currently offer sessions Tuesday Thru Friday 8am to 8pm.

Together we will find the right path, and right set of practical tools, to help you overcome obstacles and become your best self. After nearly 25 years working in mental health, I am skilled in the latest, evidence-based therapies available (e.g., Relational Mindfulness and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy). But no single approach works for all people at all times and, remaining flexible, we will create a safe therapeutic environment with the best combination of techniques that works for you. So many different psychotherapies exist today because there is no one approach that works at all times.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists

How effective is treatment for insomnia?

The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?

There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?

There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?

Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
